I think it's quite sinister really.
I mean it's quite obvious that there's massive amounts of inequality for black people in the world, especially in the US.
But it's okay because a bunch of people that control the film industry (and must have a degree of political persuasion) have made and rewarded some black people for making a film, which means that we're achieving equality, ammirite?
It's the way I'm feeling about the whole neo-liberal/snowflake approach from the establishment; if we appease as many as people with us being nice to all minorities then we're doing stuff to advance all minorities in reality, right?
