Ofcourse it is. Non of these apps are made to purely make it better for the customer. They are made it save money, tie customers in more and increase spend.Agree, that is why they are enticing frequent flyers with more personalization, pairing the phone with the seat and using it to control and upload media playlists and preferences. Essentially though it is just a way to create touch points to monetize the passenger journey and try to seize a bigger slice of the travel spend.
Whats the issue?

Yeah, I saw that too - you can get amazon gift cards and they add a bit more on top, like £5 for every £25.I think people usually use them for gift cards. Don't do it myself but know people who do![]()

Still. I don't know what I want for £60 either :\
Edit: 5 more presents to by for myself before the end of September...
Just found out that in 2016 the tories put in a rule saying business owners can buy themselves gifts tax free through the company up to the value of £300/pa and £50/gift - it goes in as "trivial expenses" (you heard of this @Wij?)
So, basically, I get to buy myself 6 £50 "gifts" on whatever I like for the year. For just owning a business. Which is weird and definitely not fair on traditionally employed people. But hey-ho, I don't make the rules, I just have to live by them.
Problem is, other than a bottle of deadhead rum, I can't think of a single thing I want that costs less than, say, £3000.
I think I'd rather just have the cash, and pay the tax on it. Unless you Freddies can come up with ideas.
BTW - no computer bits. I can buy them through the company anyway...
You've missed what I've said. I can buy anything I like, as long as it's not connected to company business. It's a "gift" that the tories have allowed companies to give to their directors and employees - just for shits and giggles. What sort of thing is it you are thinking of buying?
If it was a lawnmower or something and you are a hairdresser it would be tough to get that past HMRC.
You can buy stuff as a company and you have use of it as a director.
For example a phone you could justify is for business purposes.
The phone or whatver doesn't have to be capitalised if you have a capex policy stating that anything below x amount is written off in the first year. But you have to be reasonable about this in context with the size of your business.
Gotta be some lego sets at fifty quid a pop. Or as was said 6 x 50 quid vouchers and a 300 quid lego setI usually buy myself a new tablet every now and then, but then I put that through the firm.
Can’t think what else that I wouldn’t put through the company due to claiming the VAT back?

Games software or something. Not into lego @Moriath
Massages? You couldn't legitimately do that.
Basically, it's anything you couldn't normally justify putting through the company. Shit you'd buy, but you save yourself the tax...
Bought some rum (that deadhead). But I'm not drinking that much anyway. Still got a big bottle of 7 year old havana club from two xmases ago.Could you buy alcohol. Stack it up for your camping trips.

Just "because".
If it's related to the company, then yes - things can be bought and tax deductions can be taken into consideration. This is just tax-free shit I can buy, because tory.
No you didn't? Am I missing something? No as I asked you what you wanted to buy for 3k
Hey Big G, can you confirm this Scottish terminology?
