Problem is every time I see some story on the telly about a little Tarquin or Joquasta wearing a dress or getting all their hair cut off, there's usually one of those knit-your-own-muesli parents in the background. While parents should encourage their children to be all they can be (copyright US Army), they also have a duty of care to protect them; sending them off to get abused by the other kids fails in that duty. Now, you can certainly say that's the fault of the other kids, and you'd be entirely right, but kids are barely socialised little pricks and programmed to destroy those who don't fit in. Parents don't need to stick their boy children in a dress, they could opt for more neutral options, but they're choosing to make a political point at their kids' expense.

Reminds me years ago I was on a bus and these parents boarded tattoos and piercings everywhere all dressed like goths followed behind by their young daughter who was dressed "normal" not an inch of black or sign of piercings or anything. Clearly they have the child's interests at heart. I was expecting her to look like Wednesday from the Addams Family.

Because in theory you can have a tab that takes up the pocket space of a phone. Its been a long-term logical next step for the screen manufacturers for years now; I was always hoping they'd come up with a screen like a scroll.

I was watching the local news last night, 2 news reports. One was some down and out, sat on his couch in his free house moaning that he used to be a self employed truck driver, made loads of money from it until he "got conned" and went out of business, someone else's fault obviously, made loads, saved nothing. Can't find a job apparently, none to be had. Wants to work, allegedly.

The very next news report was about the struggle to find employees, which is a natural side effect of massive levels of employment. The company they selected was a haulage company, absolutely desperate for lorry drivers.

They were both in the same town.

I know you're trying to make a point that non-white people can be racist, but this is an extremely poor example of it.

The hypocrisy in your argument is that you would argue that the vast majority of clearly racist things to non-white people aren't actually racist, however you try and look under every fucking pebble to find examples of white people being the poor victims.

She's actually bringing awareness to racism.

Actually this is not true. American wealth was not built on slavery, the wealth of several of the southern states was built on slavery but the economic output of the non-slave states absolutely dwarfed the slave states, which is why they won the civil war. Slave driven industry as a percentage of US GDP in 1860 was single digit. If anything, there's more of an argument that Britain's success is directly off the back of slavery because it was the money from Caribbean sugar plantations that directly funded both the Navy and the Industrial Revolution, the difference was Britain found it easier to dump slavery because as a country we'd diversified (into industry and broader trade, including the narcotics business), whereas in the US, individual states hadn't diversified (and slightly ironically their slave economies, which had been dying out, were given a boost by the invention of the cotton Gin, and British, not American, demand for cotton) and because of the way the US is set up the problems of individual states led to the civil war.

I'd take issue with the line about Britain's encouragement of the caste system; Hindus are very quick to blame everything on the British, even their own culture. The fact is the British relied on the Brahmins and the Brahmins enriched themselves by reinforcing the already extant caste system which the Mughals had, not so much supressed as much as introduced alternative versions of servitude. Indians have been doing a fuckton of revisionist history over the last 20 years; if they can pin something on the Brits rather than taking responsibility for their own shit, they will. Britain could never have run India for 250 years without the active help of a significant Indian elite.
