Got a massive pot of winter warming barley soup on simmer.

Pearl barley, lentils, new potatoes, swede, carrots, onion, celery, butter beans, and chunks of beef. Takes 3 hours to cook. The taste is amazing

Looks lovely. Beef would have to be lean tho.

@caLLous lol...the lumpy things are called vegetables. Its peasant food

@Moriath yes very lean, although the original recipe calls for meat on the bone for flavour and the bones for thickening. After 2 days its so thick it could stop a bullet, so don't need more stodge

If you got rid of the pearl barley, lentils, new potatoes, swede, carrots, onion, celery and butter beans you might then have something worth eating.

Cause i dont like fatty meat. A little yes but not big lumps of jelly fat. Eww

Learn to cook, or get your wife to learn to cook then.

Fat is not necessarily a bad thing if cooked properly.

Conservationists herald bag tax impact on beach rubbish - BBC News

I will admit I thought it was a load of bollocks when it came in but colour me impressed.

Not that I ever remember to get the bags out the boot when I go to the supermarket.
But I now have to buy bags for my Finnish instead of using carrier bags. And at 9p each I now buy carriers!!

Hasn't affected the number of carriers we come home with at all - 5p is still cheaper than half decent bin bags, so it's reduced the number of them we buy to zero.

They also deliver a fuck ton of them if you order online. You can choose to have no bags but unfortunately there is no option for "please don't provide a carrier bag for every single item"
