Got back into it after watching the first series ages ago. Like it a lot, terrific music as well.

I thought it was terrible, crapola accents.

Since I have no idea what 1920s Brummie sounded like, I don't worry about it.

I know it was real life - I meant I've seen that sort of shit happen first-hand rather than on video.

Where I lived in Bradford meant I had to walk home through the arse end of the red light district whenever I went out...

In the USA for a work trip in Connecticut.

First surprise was that I seemed to be in business class rather than premium economy. So had one of those booth things which transform into a bed. Wish I could travel like that all the time!

Then I spotted David Dimbleby on the plane.

I don't usually notice celebs but I nearly bumped into him. Then saw him at the passport customs struggling to work the new passport machines.

So we appear to have been adopted by a cat. Moved into our place about a year ago, and ever since then one of the neighbourhood cats has been getting very friendly - sitting on the bonnet of my car, coming up to us when we leave the house etc. Now it's summer and we've been leaving the patio door open so we don't melt, it has started coming inside. By inside I mean, inside, up the stairs to the living room, then even further upstairs and sleeping on the bed.

It doesn't seem particularly well nourished, and spends more time than is healthy drinking out of our water feature - but it is also the most affectionate and loving cat I've seen - it's almost more like a dog.

It's also now coming in first thing in the morning, and spending most of the day sleeping on the couch. I'm starting to wonder if the previous tenants left without taking her :(

I suspect the missus wants to keep it, and I'm not opposed, so what do we do? Take it to a vet to see if it's been chipped?

Cats don't drink a lot, so either yours is ill, or it's eating a lot of dry food. You should take it to the vet, they won't charge much for a quick inspection.

Get the cats protection out, they will check it over, see if there is anything wrong with it, whether its chipped etc They will then try and find its owner. You can probably foster it too, they would be glad of the help.

If they can't find its owner then usually they will let you keep it if you want to look after it. (chuck in a donation too if you can, they do a wonderful job)

Either, best to speak to them and get some advice.

Edit, re the drinking, its hot so cats do drink a bit more but if its drinking a huge amount it could indicate a thyroid or kidney problem.

“But ad blockers are a really bad solution to that.”

Get fucked. When a simple newspaper article can consume hundreds of megabytes of mobile bandwidth and also install malware to your device, you can shove your fucking adverts up your fucking arse. I block every advert I see, even the "we notice you're using an adblocker" warnings. And if your website refuses to display content because I'm using an adblocker, then I'll get my shit elsewhere. Fuck you (not you Teeds).

Cunts.
