My Dad is an avid football fan, he goes to England away and home, he says that the proper England fans - IE the ones that paid to go to South Africa and other further away places are fine, no cunts what-so-ever, and don't say it's a financial thing - many of the people in my dads group do 'regular' jobs, and ages range from 18-60.

The cunts are the ones who will go to France, because it's cheap, and they're not proper football fans, they're the dickheads, but they're still a minority, and they'll still make Daily Mail headlines - AHHH MORAL PANIC AHHHHHHH!

In paid entry events yes, but I'm hardly claiming every football fan is like that, though many are and it's a lot more than a minority when trouble is stirred, mob rule takes over as in that film and normally decent people come over all hard as nails from the safety of the police line.

I have a long and jaundiced personal experience of football policing (and other "crowd management"), going back to the 80s, so I'm not going to take any video at face value, but I tend to find locking large groups of people into a small area for extended periods tends to bring out the worst in people.

Been to games at grounds all over the country. Trouble is very rare. But then if you set out to make a documentary about that sort of person, who undoubtedly exists, then you'll find the footage.

For what it's worth that's complete rubbish. It was rubbish last night when I saw the thread in question and it's still rubbish now as replies get up/downvoted. The top comments are explaining what's going on (Newcastle/Sunderland derby), an American asking what "relegated" means (bless him), people praising the editing and camera work and the job that the police do on match days. This is one of the most hotly contested (if not the most hotly contested) derbies in all of English football and the video does a great job of conveying that.
