Poor sky folk! On the same line with another supplier it would be more.

I pay for "up to 80" and get about 78 on a good day, 76 on a bad day with a steady 20 upload.

I had some arsehat from sky try to convince me that I would be better off paying them more for less speed...

Going back to my parents is starting to remind me of when I went back to my grandparents when I was younger, apart from they're a bit more technically advanced.

Shit internet, poor application of technology (The TV & Sound system is setup in a bizarre manner, but if I touch anything, my head will roll.)

I can imagine in 30-40 years time going to my parents and being like wtf, why are you using the free internet the government gives, capping downloads at 50 mb/s?!

Your twenty something. Your parents are fifty or late fourties. In 40 years time they will be dribbling or dust.

I'm on 70 mb, I get 8-9 mb/s download speeds, I have no idea how this shit works, but that seems more than I should be since I got 4-5 mb/s with 50 MB.
does the contract state Mbps or MBps, 8 bits to a byte so 1/8 conversion.

Wow that article is messy and inaccurate. GoGo might claim speeds of 25Mbps but the modem we all use (iDirect CX78x) has only 2 Rx channels at 40 MHz each, 50 Mbps with decent connection (SNR - Signal to Noise Ratio) and compression. The satellites they are using has around 140-160 MHz per transponder capacity. Start doing the maths and with several aircraft and 20-30 pax on each connected and the speeds drop considerably. Claiming broadband at 25Mbps for passengers is a complete fabrication. To be honest anyone using WiFi at 30,000 Ft should not be excepting the same broadband experience they get at home. The 2Ku antenna is an Active Matrix Antenna, new technology but it has limitations especially on long haul. Get above 55 deg Latitude and they lose around 80-90% of the signal. We are developing similar antennas with 4 partners and will only recommend them for regional or domestic fleets.

I only got 7, but only because I watched Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars once, then refused to watch them ever again.

Then blanked them from memory and killed the DVD's with fire.
