Does this make you want to grab a bike and explore the hills.
Makes me want to tear the trials bike apart tbh. The minute you get them on bridleways or footpaths they tear massive ruts into the surface and totally fuck it for legitimate users.

I really feel for the guys who want to take their offroad bikes offroad - but it absolutely fucks it for everyone else, which is why it's generally illegal to do that.

Edit: But yeah. On my MTB ;)

Don't get me wrong - I'd love one myself. I used to play on a mates on a quarry near Bradford. But they absolutely tear the shit out of the ground - making it unuseable for other people.

There's a woods full of bridleways near me - heavy horse use (stables nearby). Was talking to a horse rider last year and someone'd taken a bad tumble because the horse had stumbled in the ruts created by a trials bike. The entrance to the woods is blocked off on all sides so the bikers have to lift their bikes over to gain access.

I think that provision should be made for them somewhere - but free access fucks land use for everyone else...

It's illegal to use a motorised vehicle on a bridleway, but a byway is a different matter. Go on green lanes all you like, just stay off the footpaths (that applies to MTBs too) and bridleways because you fuck them up.

I agree there aren't enough spaces for motorcross. My local police force occasionally tweets "zomg motorbike and you'll be arrested" but never thinks to solve the problem by setting aside some crappy land and letting the guys play there. And there's fucking loads of crappy land around here.

What's the difference between a hippo and a Zippo?

One is really heavy and the other one is a little lighter

I'll show myself out :(

Setting aside land is not up to the police but the local council.

Of course, but you never get the police going to the council "you know what, if you guys looked at this it'd be a really good thing - it'd save us time and money and make people happy"... probably because the effort is more than their job's worth...

Is that a bridleway? Looks wide enough to be a byway to me.
It's me in the South of France yesterday on an official off road event 400 miles of trails through the National parks that they allow events on....awesome countryside.

They wont release.map..it's just step by step directions starting in Chambon sur Lignon.
To be fair, you wouldn't have been using a gps fitness tracking app on a motorised vehicle.

How long did it take?
