You should know by now I find it hard to empathise with anyone because of my aspergers. So unless it directly affects someone I know it doesn't bother me.

The way this affects me is that I have spent ages waiting in for non existent deliveries from said company and I'm glad it's out of business. Rest of it is life. And no one said life was fair or easy.

I hope insurance companies go bust because all they do is exploit people and tell them to use money they don't have, and most likely fuck them up by pathetic small print.

Or not.

Never had an insurance company tell me to use money I don't have. But he small print on those buggers you have to be careful of. Like having to get a prognosis to die in 12 months for payouts on life insurances.

But they have never made me sit in wasting my life for days on end. So I will let them off you sarcastic person you ;)

Why doesn't Amazon use DPD or a better courier?

They do use DPD. They use everybody. But customers want free delivery, Amazon suck up literally half the parcel capacity in the country, so the free and Prime stuff goes with the lowest cost carriers.

Amazon does whatever they can to please the customer, hence why they pay your shipping fees. Their strategy is to expand and expand and continue to expand, even if it means losses. In the short term, it might mean that they will have an overall loss, but in a few years when they have so much of the market share that they'll be able to shut out all other competition they'll start making the profits. Big ones. .

@Scouse im sorry you dislike I have something I have no control over.

My brain has been wired differently from birth and wasn't disagnosed till I was 36. So everything is kinda hard coded now and there's no therapy to up code me.

So you will have to keep disliking my mental health issue. Hope you feel good about it.

Nothing to do with that at all m8. I dislike your comprehension skills. I said I disliked the way the employees have been treated - but you seemed to think I gave a shit about the company.

Edit: Just noticed @Job's avatar. It's great :D

Okay, I'll explain more, I don't care about the company, I care about the people, the shitty couriers gave people a job at the end of the day, and a lot of them were people in shit situations, criminal records etc so they could get a job else where, so the employers and other workers sub letted their work to these people so they could afford to get something nice for Christmas.

There's so little empathy on this forum its disturbing, the attitude should be yay, they've gone bust so they can stop abusing people, not yay, people have lost the only pathetic way that they made a couple of quid.
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but shit couriers like Yodel/Shitty Link place absolutely ridiculous targets for their drivers to pass, x number of deliveries per hour etc and a lot of the time they're simply not attainable if you guarantee every single parcel is delivered (when waiting around for minutes for people to open their door etc).

There's no doubt some drivers will use this as a cop out for being useless fuckers, but it's absolutely not the case with a lot of them.

For the record though, I haven't had a problem with Yodel for a while, they appear to have upped their game a bit. Basically going the same day DPD did, they were awful to begin with.

Indeed, they're a shit company to work for but they allow anyone to work for them because they don't ask questions, and they pay you shit money.

If you want an example of how the other side of the courier business works, my Uncle works for DPD and he did 180 miles delivering 43 parcels on Christmas Eve.

When he was self-employed and working for Parcel Force, it was the other way around.

People at Parcel Force had like 3-4 vans, and rented those vans out to other people, giving them half the pay per parcel, meaning they got way below minimum wage, but no questions asked etc.

Then the shit couriers don't lose contracts, because they're laughing at you because you complain to the courier and not to the people using the couriers.

Oh I alWays Complain to the company's that send the goods. In fact I particularly look to see which courier is used and if I can get it somewhere a bit more expensive with a transporter I think is better I will go with them.

Hard to tel, with Amazon who they will use tho. Sometimes their own, or parcel force, or Royal Mail, or anyone really.

Warning! Possbily NSFW partial reproduction of an Oglaf strip. If you have the kind of work place that is similar to the 'murican moral code (eg, it's OK to kill each other, but all hell breaks loose if anything remotely resembling sexuality is shown in any way, outside of a Nikki Mingeage video clip) then look thee away and think of sheep and teddy bears and such things for a moment.

Right I need help with something:

My car tax is due. I can pay £99 for 6 months, or I can pay £94.50 for 6 months as a Direct Debit.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't just pay the £94.50 then inform them I want to cancel my DD?

Don't see any reason why not.

That's my thinking. I'm getting rid of the car in May anyway.

Should make sure with the provider/dealer/etc that there's no "minimum 12 months" on DD, or that there's no other added fees.

Cheaper usually is cheaper for a reason, so find it out first ;)
