Frankly, I think the whole Ferguson thing is much like what happened in London, its using that single example to vent persecution of the black minority in America, which does happen, much like it happens in the UK.

The problem is though that give it a few days and it'll be over and nothing will have changed and the vast majority of those who claimed to have given a fuck will just get on with their lives.

You know theFerguson thing has been going on for a couple of months now right?

...also, what on earth has looting got to do with it? Do people think stealing a big TV is going to help in any way? Its simmilar
I mean, if it was clearly stated in their terms and conditions then it's pretty open and shut breach of contract isn't it? People will rightly vote with their feet and not go there though, because of the bad review and because of this policy.

No, because a contract is null and void if it contains illegal clauses. Just because something is in a contract (or terms of use, which is not a contract) does not make it legally binding.

No, it's not an enforceable contract term. You can't sign away your rights as a consumer, even if you wanted to, and the hotel don't have the authority to impose credit card fines (and may find they've breached their merchant agreement).

Yes, but it keeps dying down and then picking up over court reports and such, its not exactly caused straight rioting since the guy got shot

Being reviewed as an illegal term of contract.

Let face it, if you're not free to give your honest opinion then how's capitalism supposed to work?

What are humans supposed to do? Fuck their own lives over?

That's like saying you have to give all your money away if you want to campaign for redistrubution of wealth or fairer taxes.

I still think the first case (12yo) is disgusting. There are surely ways of shooting somebody (especially a kid ffs) that will immobilise them (or stun them long enough to get to them and disarm them) that aren't fatal.

Heard the phone call to the police on Sky News last night. The caller stated that the boy was sat on a swing and kept taking a gun out of his pants and pointing it at people. They also showed the gun which looked pretty damned real. Seriously any parent that buys their kid one of those realistic looking bbguns is bloody retarded! They should bring in a law to paint them all bright orange or something.

Yup, police arrive to a scene after a 911 call of a kid pulling a gun on people, kid points it at the police and refuses to back down. blam. Stupid kid, stupid parent, stupid gun happy society. But in no way shape or form are the police at fault

apparently the bright orange bit on the gun that clearly identifies it as a replica (think it goes in the muzzle) had been taken off as well.

who knows but considering the spate of school shootings the cops are in the terrible position..if it was a real gun and he shot someone then it would be why didnt you take him out.

Police culture in America is just fucked up. 12 year old kid might have a gun in his pocket? Kill him. Unarmed teenager tries climbing a fence near a burglary scene? Kill him. Unarmed teenage thug making you feel threatened? Kill him.

I don't understand why this is an accepted course of response for American officers, nobody is ever held accountable.

Aye, and when shit does happen, the 'authorities' always try and say 'well, he was a criminal' - but surely they know it's -bigger- than that particular individual?

Notes from the pulpit!

1 Pot luck supper; prayer and medication to follow.

2 Don't let worry kill you. Let the church help!

Made my day. I'm easily amused I know.

You were right the first time I think, it was the base of the back his skull. Anyway, I agree. I had no idea he existed but it's very sad. You don't think of cricket as being one of those sports you could die playing (and you also assume that the helmets would offer all the protection needed to the head, even in freak circumstances like this). :(

He was hit in the one tiny part of the skull not protected by anything. He was turning away from a bouncer trying a hook shot and it caught him, splitting the main blood source to the brain I believe - docs have said it's incredible he didn't die there and then. Absolutely tragic turn of events - he was a great young player. Really feel for the bowler as well, can't image what he is going through.
