The one in Stafford is quite good actually, much nicer steak than some of the "Gourmet" Gastropubs that have sprung up since the smoking ban, half the price and isn't served with pretentious shite like a "jus" or "reduction". Don't get me wrong, they don;t compare to a proper steakhouse, but not bad at all for the price.

I'm gutted they've stopped doing the Inferno Wings however. Well I'm gutted, my ringpiece and toilet bowl are quite happy about this :)

Any fucker on here who supported ASBOs and called anyone else a tin-foil hatter has just been proven to be a dumb cunt.

Government can't be trusted.
I don't see a problem with that. It's not like the asbo is a first measure etc. that stuff is evil and a non native species that's taking I've ether countryside. It needs to be controlled where it's found. How else are you going to make people do something if you don't impose a punishment if they don't.

It's your civil responsibility to help it not spreading if it's on your land. And it's anti social if you don't.

Before you tirade against me. I won't be commenting further on this. This is just my point of view.

I know a fair bit about Japanese knotweed - and frankly criminalising individuals for not digging it up out of their garden when it's clogging up shitloads of the countryside - that councils do very little to clear themselves - is the work of fucking retards.

Fucking. Retards.

It's not even illegal to have japanese knotweed in your garden. And it's incredibly hard to remove by hand or even through chemical use. So only utter morons would think it's a good idea to criminalise people for this.

Frankly, they should be birched.

Honestly - could you recognise it if you just ran past it?

99% of people couldn't. And not a single house in the UK has fallen down because of knotweed. It's a classic case of an out-of-proportion fear of something being used to form law.

they aren't suggesting going from zero to asbo in one swoop. There are a number of incremental stops on the way. First of which I would assume is the person being informed they have it and should do something about it.

Councils should do more to help people remove it, what if you find a massive amount of it, which will cost you a shit ton of time or money to remove it?

I don't understand how nature making their mark on peoples land is criminal.

You are responsible for anything on your property. It's the same with anything. The councils don't have unlimited funds to deal with everything. They won't fix sewer pipes or water pipes on your property. They won't paint it for you. And will charge you to remove rubbish from it.

But they shouldn't be in the business of criminalising people on residential properties (where the ecology is already fucked) when the threat from knotweed is in the countryside - a threat the council does fuck all about.

"Fix the knotweed problem on your fucked council estate"

"Oh, no, we won't do anything about it in this Site Of Special Scientific Interest - we've got no money - which is why we've fined you..."

Normally wouldn't post these, but some of these are just worth it:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-TdNP3eHOg
The sainsburys ad. While a good piece of filming. I object to an organisation using a massacre for publicity. I don't see what a supermarket has to do with ww1 and all the atrocities that happened.

They should put people foaming at the mouth from prison gas and such and not cherry pick niceness to sell their produce.

I've not seen it, so I'm not sure how that's relevant?

Ah stupid ads on YouTube. They put that ad for sainsburys on before your linked vid. They push the sentimental side of ww1 playing football between the Germans and allies and stuff .

Stopped watching before I could realise it was the stupid ad.

https://m.youtube.com/user/Sainsburys

Then they go and sell the chocolate bar that's featured in it.

Now I shop there but to my mind that's a marketing catastrophe

Oh for crying out loud, it was 100 years ago, and the Christmas Truce is effectively folklore by this point. War has been used in TV ads in the past. I suppose you object to this too:
