Does anyone else feel that this constant media attention on Alan Henning is going to make it less likely that he will be released?

They weren't going to release him anyway but I'm not sure what his wife writing them notes is going to achieve. I guess she has to feel like she is doing something but pleading and making him more emotionally "valuable" to the nasty fuckers isn't going to help him at all. They'll release another video and then everybody will know who he is.

Horrible fuckers and everything but you can't fault them on their methods and the slick editting on their videos. They introduce the next in line in the previous beheading video to give all the media outlets time to dig up everything on him so people feel like they know him when his time comes.

My immediate reaction is to say it's their own fault for going there..but we can't condone a situation where visitors are kidnapped and beheaded..so I suggest a suitable reaction...for every guy they behead we will kill 20,000 of them..I think that's about the usual ratio..no point in getting greedy.

Media coverage on crimes is bad unless the public is needed, like find a person, or warn of XYZ.
