Can I just pick apart your reply and say that is my exact point...much as people dismiss daily mail articles because of newspaper snobbery...the question is 'are the facts true'..the mail might well spin it to the right..but the facts are undeniable..not the reactions or the context...if you cant see through mail bullshit to the truth then you shouldn't look at any news.

I think actually the reality is that many sex offenders escape prison...thousands are given suspended sentences each year because its not in anyones interest to jail them...but in this case the girl was 11 which makes him a true peadophile and he was in a position of trust...thats a 99% go to jail card for everyone else.
