Whats the best spec for a lvl 24 minstrel so he can not just up and die in Thidranki ?

More thrust or more stealth?

tbh i was hoping stealth would be good , but i think i gimped it.

i have loads of + stealth items and a nice orange con 99% qual sword.

Well... one of the biggest strengths of the minstrel is his speed and ability to mez, with that in mind you should create your character. Since you got speed then the "slow stealth" definitly isn't for you. You dont really want it, other stealthers can see you from a looooong distance. Think of being a fast hit-go "helicopter" you transport people and escape with them, you are also equipped with "rockets" and THAT is your thrust, slash or whatever you are specced in. So try to use speed to get to some slow casters or weak fighters and mez whatever you think appropriate, kill whatever you think is easy.

This means - invest into MAIN weapon spec (best would be thrust). Into Instruments I suppose full spec (why full spec? well you get your next mez ability at lv 24 ;]). The left overs should go to whatever you think is appropriate - you can go for stealth if you want to because I have to admit it is a good way to survive.

If I were you I wouldn't waste spec points in stealth. I have a level 24 shadowblade on Excalibur, currently getting the last few RPs from Thid before I'm booted.

I can see non-rogue based stealthers from quite a distance away. Even if you had 24 stealth (at level 24) I'd see you from miles away.

Personally as an SB the most annoying characters are the non-staic ones. Last night I met a saracen minstrel who really knew how to avoid being PA'd. If he was alone he was always mobile, running this way and that, in zig-zag formation. The only time he was static was when he was surrounded by his zerg.

I never got close to taking him out and didn't even try. When he stealthed I could still see him from almost clipping distance.

At level 24 you can have +5 to stealth from items giving you 25% stealth to your level. This is usually adequate to remain hidden from non-stealthers but is not significantly less effective against rogues had you full stealth.

All stealthers are rouge based, even minstrels.
If a scout or minstrel had 24 in stealth, you would only see them from 5 meters away, at best.

When I was in thidranki, there were hunters with higher stealth then SBs. The SBs I could see from a good 15-20meters but the hunters at 5-10 meters. Naturally, these were rare exceptions but it does happen.

Most minstrels can be seen stealthed from quite a distance, but most of them hardly touch stealth. If I rolled a minstrel, unless I was planning to take stealth to 15 at the least, I wouldn't spec it at all. But then, why would a minstrel need stealth?

If you want to spy or scout, you can easily run in and out without being touched. I'd much rather go with the high Instrument and melee spec.
