I'd also crop the left hand side, with such a large focal point it should be more central imo.

I disagree strongly. Composition wise you only want to use central framing rarely, and for a specific purpose. With the people on the right hand side of the tunnel only, it wouldn't have symmetry, it lends itself more to being offset.

Have a look about the rule of thirds in photography if you don't know about it.

Thanks for the nice comments! Feel free to fiddle with it those that like to fiddle. The way it's shot being offset was on purpose for the above reason. My girlfriend explained all about thirds in photography to me before we went on that holiday because I always used to shoot everything straight down the middle. :p

I know about the rule of 3rds but it doesn't always apply. For a long winding road like that I think a central shot would be better. I think having the unimportant bit to the left slightly negates the quality of the focal point.

I'm with Wazz on this one; I like the negative space on the left. I would probably clone out the light on the left and have it all black.

The light rays are cool but the horizons are off on both of them :(

Still on a 'street' mode at the moment.

I'll upload the rest of the ones I took today after I develop them.

As in you have to tilt your head to the right to straighten it.

Shagrat, in Photoshop use the ruler tool (it's hidden under the eyedropper iirc) to draw a line on the horizon and then go to Image>Image Rotation>Arbitrary. It will automagicallgy enter in the angle you need to level it out. Then just click ok.

Ta, will have a mess about with that later. I'm posting the shots untouched tbh, as its post processing/composition tips I'm more interested in

Too edited
If you don't understand that that's not edited in the slightest (save maybe white balance and exposure correction, which isn't "editing" anyway), you shouldn't be posting comments about it.

It's overly long exposure by the looks of it. That sort of shot really doesn't need it (imo) and it spoils what would be an excellent photo.

A matter of taste I suppose.

That would make a great photoshop though, the bottom half normal exposure and the top half (with the clouds) as long exposure.

It's not overly long though Raven, we don't know what the light conditions were to make that assumption.
