Good game, would have liked to have seen Chamberlain on earlier. England have to get better, ball rentention was laughable at times. Walcott was great, strange goal though even looked suprised it went in.

After a horrendously game versus the Ukrainians, this was some game. Our fucking defense on the last two goals were seriously lacking. Atleast we both offered an open game.

Olof Mellberg AKA Beardy Viking, our central def, had a beasting game. Last championship for him.

Shame Mellberg is <3

Seen it again and I agree Gerrard was a selfish prick taking that of the Oxs foot.

Any other Swedes share their thoughts?

Not much to share. We never had a chance to begin with. Hamréns lust for experimentation sank us. High stake gambling is nice but only if you have something worth backing it up with, and we usually never do in things like this because we can't adjust fast enough.

That was a great win last night. The will to win was incredible and shows there is more to football than pretty passing patterns. Good to have a coach in charge that isn't afraid to make changes too. The problems with the squad were inherited from his predecessor and can't be laid at the feet of Roy.

That game last night has already surpassed the level of enjoyment England offered in South Africa.

I only hope that people realise we're still at early stages and are building towards 2014, and dont spaz out when we get knocked out. If we can keep improving, and start adding in players like wilshere etc we should start to play some nice football.

We scraped a win against a very average team, we didn't hold on to the ball enough and we will get torn apart by anyone decent. Woy did the best with what he had and played it right.

Glad of the win obviously but I don't see any progression at all in the last few years.

France are very good, we didn't get ripped apart at all? we did play an extra midfielder that match though.

Rooney is back next match.. and since Walcott,Carroll and Welbeck performed last night it's going to be a real selection headache for Hodgson..

I think Carroll will be replaced by Rooney.. he was quite good last night and did prove some people wrong but Welbeck and Rooney play well at club level together so will probably play together for England :/

The England team played well to their rather obvious gameplan. Carroll, while not being the well-rounded played, is lethal on the head. If you guys can find the discipline to own the midfield, you'll do decent even in the playoffs

He played well all game, but if you *must* find something to hate about him... ;)
I can not disagree with that he had a great game it is just the one incident i was slagging him off for :) Him and Parker are a good duo.

We have to finish 1st in this group otherwise we get Spain in the first knockout :D and France will probably finish 1st :/

I would like us to get Spain in the first knockout though, better than some shit team and getting knocked out by them.

There wasn't a defeatist attitude and the will to win was there. Progress of some form.

Whilst doing a great job I actually think he's still a bit wasted where he is.

The best bits of his play are around the front of the opposition 18 yard box. He needs to be further up the field, not in front of the back 4 and dropping back to pick up the ball so much.

Yeah he would of made more sense behind the Striker than Young did against France. With Rooney back we might go back to 4-2-3-1 so he might get another chance.

I dont think Sweden would be better w-o Zlatan, but they need to reposition him. He's way too deep down in the field to provide any goalscoring threat. It just didnt work out at all.

Feel for him, clear penalty.
