I thought the films were excellent. Of course they're different from the books, books rely totally on imagination. Films rely totally on visual and audible senses.

Yep, I have read the hobbit three times and lotr twice. For me the films create what I have always imagined. I don't need a film that copies the book exactly, the story is the same and it is enjoyable to watch.
