Quite enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody. I can see why critics gave it a mauling but if you like Queen then it'll do just nicely, thankyouverymuch :)

Went with the missus to see it on Friday. She loved it, I liked the music but it definitely soft-pedalled a lot of stuff.

As a Queen fan, I'm interested in the whole band and the music. Yeah he was gay, hit the drugs and partied hard but I didn't really want to watch cockfest '99 - how would that have focussed on the band's story arc?

If it was all about Freddie then warts and all (and an 18 certificate instead of a 12a) might be appropriate, but I'd probably swerve because I don't need to see that much male ass on-screen :)

To be fair, it is tipped as more of a Freddie Mercury film than a Queen film, which is why the title is probably unfair.

I'm sure you wouldn't mind if you saw female ass on-screen. ;)

It does focus on it from mostly Freddies viewpoint, naturally. But it's not called 'mercury'...

And watching birds asses is always plesant, but it could easily get pornographic, and that's for 'special home time' rather than the flicks. :)

Just saw the Netflix movie The Outlaw King. Setting is after Braveheart. Lots liberties with history, but a decent enough action flick.

He was bisexual and basically banged anything that moved and abused his position to demand sex off everyone he could have fired.

I watched a documentary a few years back..interviewing friends and staff.
They all said no one said no to Freddie and kept their job.

Yeah.

History has moved to 'public history' which means the focus no longer is on the great figures, but finding more about the every day lives of every day people.

The problem is that the Film industry has adopted this into their films, but very badly, when I saw Robert digging mud with the peasants I cringed.

Uh? That wasn't the Battle of Bannockburn?

Haha, no, it was an early fight against the English. No King or Prince present in real life, hence my liberties at history dig. Doesn't make good TV though.

Here's the wikipedia article: Battle of Loudoun Hill - Wikipedia

Maybe they could have done Bannockburn next, but they ruined it with all that damn text. Annoyed me no end that there was no narrator.

I didn't watch it yet. Some of my friends and acquaintances have, and the jury outcome was shit. Therefor, also based on my personal feeling after having watched the trailer, this one goes to the "Going to watch it when it gets released to torrents" category.

Wtf is.this pile of shite from Jackson.
Is it a joke movie?

Why are you acting so fake butthurt? It just looks like some fun project from Weta with a stream-punk aesthetic crossed with a lot of influence from Japanese CGI action flicks from the last 5 years. In otherwords a mindless popcorn multiplex movie it's not worth getting worked up about.

The linked article states that Robert was at Loudoun Hill, even if Edward II wasn't.

Blunt, brutal, modern movie - thoroughly enjoyed it.
