He's wrong tho, Massa and Maldonado had track position and were not obliged to move out of the way for the car behind them.

They moved into a section of track that was not available though. At what point do you feel they should yeild? Hamilton was 1/3rd of the way along the inside of Maldanados car when he turned in, he positioned poorly and left the door open, and shut it too late.

What this race basically states is:

If someone is taking you on the inside, turn in and take out their front wing .. if you can do so without damaging your car (wing to sidepod). Not only will it cause them to pit for a new wing, it will also cost them a drive through thus they wont be able to bother you for the rest of the race.

So putting your car in a position that causes a collision is alright as long as you were the person in front? I suppose that's rhetorical at the end of the day because the stewards have made their view on that clear today (altho there's no guarantee that'll view will remain consistent at other events) but I don't think it's good for racing and is certainly not workable when they insist on racing on tight circuits like Monaco. It's just a nonsense when the difference between being penalised for an overtake falls down to whether or not the guy being overtaken decides to turn in early or is a little more sensible and takes avoiding action to allow both cars to safely navigate a corner.

Indeed. And in the case of the attempted move up the inside of Massa at the hairpin Massa takes a completely different line than he had done in previous laps. For several laps he'd gone round the corner following the same line as Webber but on the lap Hamilton moves up the inside he turns in far earlier leading to Hamilton having nowhere to go and Webber getting a smack to the rear for good measure.

Just get rid of Monaco because it's not possible to race on it (not in cars, anyway.)

As for Hamilton, let him be. He's no more of an emotionally charged plank than Senna was, with a similar level of talent. But people all too conveniently forget what a hot-headed twat Senna was when they speak of him being the God of F1. Who the hell wants robots and PR machines giving them the same spiel after every race. Why not watch some real human emotion for a change?

Massive double standards.

saw it earlier in the day, was an awful crash... he walked away from it fine, and no known injuries to the media etc.

Silverstone on the other hand had one the american riders (not sure which bike race it was), break his collar bone today. Seems it is a weekend for crashes with all the friday F1 crashes

Crutchlow's a nice bloke too, met him at the opening of the new complex at SS.
Shame though, but that's the nature of the beast, injuries will happen.

McNish was bloody lucky to walk out of that - just had to cringe as I watched the replays.

As for Quali - Kobi is definitely one of the "to watch" drivers - that was a lovely bit of drifting :D

I do hope it rains alot. Only chance Mclaren got for a result in all likelyhood, and would make it alot more exciting :D

It's tipping it down in Canada, as well as in Silverstone. Both GP should be interesting.

Went to see Senna last night.
Easily the most awe inspiring film I've seen at the cinema in a decade. At times had the whole audience gasping, laughing, shocked into silence etc.
Can't recommend it highly enough.

Very good film if not slightly shoddily put together. Also conveniently misses out a hell of a lot of the more negative side of Senna, but that's to be expected really. It's a difficult film to watch, even more so as you know how it ends.
After watching it, I looked through the photographs I took of his car at Silverstone last month.
Is it sad that when doing so, I shed a tear? :(

He's racing at least, more than the stewards would like to allow. Well he was racing - now he's watching.

Hamilton aint having a good year, lol. Crazyness.

Should have had a normal start, BUT, they have to red flag it. Surprised took so long. No point driving for 30minutes+ under a safety car. Wouldnt surprise me if they just dont bother starting it again if it doesnt calm down soon.

Lovely driving by Button to go past Webber and Schumacher, just hope the stewards don't crucify him after the race.

'kin hell what a finish. Fantastic result for Jenson, and nice to see that Vettel is human after all. Still hoping the stewards don't screw it up.
