Do you work for the union megarevs?
Was just curious as you seem to be lodged up their bumhole
Only kidding, just seems you're making pretty bold sweeping statements with no real explanation.
i dont think its just unions. in the UK we also have legislation to help you if your employer treats you like shit.

Easy there fella, my post was pretty much at the same time as yours. I was referring to -tris making Will laugh
Yeah tbh J, I don't get pay rises inline with inflation, but because I dont work for an essential public service I can't strike and cripple the nation.
And posties used to be good, now I hardly ever see the same one and they can't tell the difference between Woolwich and woolworths.
No bot you would live in 1900 (work wise) if we didn't have the unions!
To quote you:
Stuff
Thats mainly because most the folks that go to uni do so for the social life, and rarely for the education. A lot go due to the education, choose the course that best suits, then spend most the time not caring about it - the pub's closer. Then there's the "Media Studies" bunch who of course don't have a clue about life in general - they're there because there's pubs. And then even those who've spent 5-7 years doing various courses and coming out with high end degrees are ending up on the dole.
I was extremely lucky to land my perfect job after 2 months of the dole, and I had just given in to agency work. Very shit agency work.
No matter how difficult finding a job is - striking is hardly going to support your cause (yeah I know they can't do anything about it) - but I pity the poor souls who are dragged along in something they don't have a problem with.
Actually I was curious to know of 3 things they could do that would NOT interrupt the postal service, I think all three of those would. Our postman already does the second one sort of, he discusses things over a cup of tea at the guest house across the road part of the way through his route.I was asked to name 3 things people could do instead of striking:
1. Petitions
2. Actually sitting down with a nice cup of tea and talk things over with the problem causing people.
3. Firebomb the people causing problems.
.
I am lucky in the fact i got a huge pay off that will last me for the next 8 years and am currently budgeting myself on that each month otherwise i would be living off my dole money+army pension i get each month.
