Hopefully the new dash and regionalised download servers will help, Microsoft should have thought of this before to be honest.

scarey no chance im walking up dem hills some screy storys about that place:p

Bought one from Comet on Sunday, was delivered Wednesday and I have been in 360 heaven ever since. Got it running via VGA and the picture is crystal clear, playing games with a 50inch screen is a bit mind blowing at first :D Just waiting on my DVI-HDMI cable now so I can make a vid of DAoC running on a 50 inch screen :D

lucky bugger, btw you may be better off using vga port to connect to pc rather than dvi-hdmi cable, as im preety sure no dlp (for that matter no plasma's and most LCD tvs) gives 1:1pixel map that way

daoc will blow the dlp tv

The DLP has a 1280x720 native resolution at 60hz and my pc graphics card can do that as a custom resolution and I am also fairly sure the card can output HDTV standards over DVI anyway as part of the drivers. As long as I am feeding it a proper HDTV spec over HDMI it shouldnt need the scaler and do 1:1 pixel map right?

As for DAoC, why would it blow the TV?

Ran it tonight for about 10 mins, looked stunning :D No digi-camera atm but I am going to loan one so I can make a vid for the DAoC forums. Btw, you should see WMV HD porn running from the PC to the TV. It was that clear I felt like a gaenecologist :p

I've tried the soldier level of chromehounds, dont like the game so far. I think it would be better if it was from the cockpit view or at least give that option. Seems to be the first game I've played where all the buttons arent used either!

Haven't even bothered downloading it.. it looks very bland.. the graphics don't look that amazing either tbh.

Getting Prey/Lord of the rings battle for middle earth 2 instead.. both are very solid games and loved the prey demo.

Btw dont get Over G fighters if your tempted this week.. a friend got his copy yesterday.. fucking awful shabby game no wonder they haven't gave reviewers copies.. they wanted to scam as much cash from anyone who bought it.

After all the hype of the game, the Chromehounds demo isn't that great looks ok but the Mech's look awful, I do like the way buildings crumble, but I don't think I will be buying it anytime soon. The online is supposed to be amazing they had it on Onthespot (gamespot) and it looked like a 360 version of Mechassualt.

Lord of the rings 2? I owned the first on PC and it was let down by the AI but I did finish the good side campaign, I installed LOTR2 last night and couldnt uninstall it quick enough, the AI seems more dumb than in LOTR1 !

I wonder how it will work out using a control pad too.

In this day and age i couldn't give a rats arse what the AI is like.. if its got multiplayer im interested.. its that part of the game for me that makes a game worth getting.

Dunno about you but i got tired around 5 years ago of single player games.. AI will never be better then a human who can do something which can be totally random an unexpected.

Multiplayer>single player

I mean even the squad AI, you can have two squads standing next to eachother, one will engage the enemy and the other will just stand there. I shouldnt have to micro manage to that detail to get the 2nd squad to start fighting. :(

I have it for the PC also there is a command to change their tactics ie stand until you order or defend when near by enemies are around :) helps if you read the manual.

This game will rock on LIVE and gamespot have said the control pad is awsome for the game.. they said its basicly like a mouse.. a button is the left click and the rest all do other things in a press of the button.

I believe their was a video somewhere of control vs mouse that they had going people with control pad won by a mile :)

It takes a bit of practice getting used to, and while it's admittedly nowhere near as efficient as a mouse, it's a decent translation of real-time strategy controls to a gamepad.

that's atleast what they're saying on their webbie.
