"What a strike... he's put that away brilliantly.... amazing.... Let's wait 5 mins to find out if its a goal"

Shockingly I'm beginning to agree with Scouse, even in a game when all the decisions were apparently the correct ones.

If it was 100% exact and correct then it'd be worth considering. But it doesn't even cut down on controversy.

It was supposed to be 2mm accurate location chips in the ball and players shinpads, followed in realtime with instant foul/line decisions.
Obviously football cant afford that and fuck me it would have been sterile.

Nuno Espirito Santo said:
What I'm concerned about is, let's not ruin the game.

It's what fans come for, to celebrate a goal, not to celebrate a no goal - that's not the real celebration of football.

It's not good for the atmosphere of football. The Leicester fans were celebrating the no goal. That's not the mindset of the game. Six months ago it would've been a goal, so that is an issue for VAR.

We have such a nice Premier League, such a product, we cannot lose that. Two minutes the game stopped. The anxiety of us celebrating, then we waited - it's not the spirit of the game.

Obviously, especially in a game that has so few points.
I think they are doing it on purpose to get it ditched.

and that could have been the difference between Liverpool or Man City winning this season.

VAR definitely is going to be interesting.

New football tactics; try and make as many VAR decisions as possible for maximum advertising revenue.

My naive young friend.

It opens up rule changes that make VAR incidents more likely. If I was an advertiser that's exactly what I would push for.

And in real world news - talking to my best mate, who runs an advertising firm, clients are talking about exactly that.

Of my predictions about VAR over the last season only this one was wrong: that they'd slowly introduce changes over a generation.

What a twat I was. They want it now.

Are they not calling PSG by their name any more?

All reasonable draws imo. Tottingham have the hardest maybe?

Looking forward to meeting Napoli.

We signed Bendtner a quarter to closing the window last night. Shirts already sold out at the shop. We are winning the Europa League.

That's all.

Think they're trying to say that anything is fair game for fans attempting to put the opposing team off - including racist chants if they get under the opposing team's skins - but they don't actually mean it.

It's probably a fair assessment of what they're up to, but doesn't make it nice or right.
