so Lacazette to Arsenal seems like a done deal. Good business for Arsenal? Will this keep Sanchez at the club?

Predictions for top 5 this season?

1) Liverpool
2) Liverpool
3) Liverpool
4) Liverpool
5) Liverpool

Yes. You read it right - we're going to win so hard that we'll take all the top five places up* - relegating everyone else to also rans and giving us all of England's allocations to the champions league and Europa cup. (which is admittedly going to put a strain on our squad given the number of games we will have to play - including against ourselves).

But win, eh?

*will probably finish sixth :(

Seems a bit unfair seeing as how you got the whole country banned from European competition in the 80s...

Someone needs to. Liverpool fans never do. :)

Anyway I'm not really looking forward to this season. A complete lack of activity in the transfer window while everyone around us strengthens (even though I still believe our current starting 11 when fit was the best in the league last season) and home games in an unfamiliar stadium. We were great in the FA Cup final last season but the European matches were pretty awful. Poch's high pressing works better on narrower pitches and we've got 5m of extra width to look forward to at Wembley and the new stadium (WHL was far smaller than current minimum pitch size regulations dictate). I think we'll be alright but I'm not expecting a third successive title challenge (or being the last team capable of deposing the leader for the third successive season for the pedants who think they're funny) come the run-in.

I hope for Everton to have a good season now, for once we're finally having squad depth both with experience and youth on our side. We're looking to maintain a championship winning team for the U23 league, no doubt we'll be bringing some of those players occasionally into our first team squad for easy win games or cup matches so the team should stay refreshed.

With the rumours of Giroud and Rooney coming and gathering pace, I would be happy to see Giroud... Rooney i'm indifferent about thus far. His experience in big games would be a help sure, but he can't command the same wages as what he is on at United, it would put other players in the shadow and they would expect similar, especially the likes of Barkley who is still oo'ing and ah'ing about signing.

Some of the teams above us are also strengthening though so I think it would be a push for us to get 5th or above, but we still have time before the season begins to still capture a few positions.

I thought Liverpool fans loved a bit of history?

Probably about the value I would want him to go at. Still a healthy profit for Everton overall. If it's true that Conte wants him though, we could have two of the richest clubs outbidding each other for his services!
We will have a lot of forwards this season, most lilkely have to do a rotation regularly. Would have liked a strong player like Lukaku though, Costa fits the bill but he's a bit of a prick, more so than what Lukaku is.

Conte is going to be pissed if they don't get Lukaku.

Wonder if that means the Morata deal is dead? Will be also interesting to see if Chelsea throw their toys out of the pram over the Matic move.

Real should've bitten United's hand off if they were really offering £60+m for Morata, they'll never get that much for him elsewhere. It looks like maybe Woodward is fed up with Perez playing games. If United get Lukaku I imagine they'll tell Real where to go re: Morata.

A few weeks ago there was talk of Conte threatening to walk out if he didn't get Lukaku, I don't know how much of that was press sensationalisation but he really *really* wanted him.

"Conte wants him, the club don't want to pay €90m, disagreement causing lots of tension."

I am not entirely sure whether UTD even need to spend 75mil on Lukaku, they have bigger short comings elsewhere.

While their major problem is lack of goals, if you aren't supplying your forwards it doesn't matter who you have up front.

It is amusing when his mind games cost him 75 million pounds, plus a wages.

Says a supporter of a team that *definitely* hasn't bought success. :)
