No. He'll argue that he's spent that, but sold a lot too.

Like we got 50 million for sterling and have paid out 80m on a shitload of players this year. Unlike the £250 millon that the mancs are thinking of spending on Neymar or the £80m that Chelski are thinking of spending on two players...

You will find that Chelsea's NET spend is actually pretty low this season, and last, and the season before that. Less than 15 mil last season. So far their NET spend this season is around 20 mil, with a few other players up for sale too.

Edit, sorry, their NET spend last season was 7mil

While we all know your usual answer to spending etc, which like many Liverpool fans seem to ignore you own tendency to spend, here are some basic figures for the Net Spends over the last few years during the Brendan Era 2012-Present:

Chelsea (£152,159,000) - http://www.transferleague.co.uk/chelsea/english-football-teams/chelsea-transfers
Liverpool (£137,280,000) - http://www.transferleague.co.uk/liverpool/english-football-teams/liverpool-transfers

Firstly they aren't as far away as many deluded Liverpool fans would like and considering our higher revenue and success that £15m is small change, gets even worse if you exclude our biggest sale (Luiz £40m) and yours (Luis £65m) during that period.

Think Chelsea are utterly disgusting if this news is true, how many "No's" should a team have to make to get someone to understand?

While most managers agree the window should be closed before the season starts whinging like Roberto won't change the fact the transfer window is active now and thus increased offers are always going to happen.

wah wah wah.

Chelski were keeping a really great squad topped up. Lollerpool were recovering from texan asset strippers.

But it's a boring conversation anyway. Done to death and no nearer any conclusion.

Don't forget @Scouse I do like Rodgers and I would love to see 'pool win the league. Maybe that's why these flops he buy's annoys me so much when this season could definitely be your season :)

Yes he made money on Suarez and Sterling but we know he will and has spent it on shite, Dalglish surely has to take the credit for Suarez though? But Sterling 100% down to Rodgers, he brought him through and gave him his chance etc.

But Sterling 100% down to Rodgers
Actually Rafa bought him.

I'm not a fan of Rodgers. But I think Benteke's a good buy. 32 million? About right with world beating TV deals and all the money sloshing about...

He will score no more than 15. Awful purchase.

Who else could or should we have bought?

When you consider your answer please bear in mind we *had to* by at least one proven striker.

Edit: Only 3 players scored more than 20 PL goals last season. Aguero was No1 with 21, not including penalties (26 with). Excluding penalties only 4 players scored more than 15 period.

So 15 seems to be a reasonable return.

Should never have been bought tbh.

But in all seriousness. There will be maybe 5 or so shit to average forwards that will score more than Benteke this season that could have been bought for far less than Benteke, plus the proper goal scorers.

Existing premiership players alone (that will have scored more goals than Benteke come the end of the season) that would have cost less than Benteke, never mind picking up a bargain in Europe.

Gomis
Cisse
Pelle
Berahino
Vardy

Unlucky Raven.

How did you let Williamson score though!? Me mate made a killing having Janmaat and Williamson to score.

Anyone can score against us if they want, I have no understanding how we are not fighting a relegation battle yet.

No way is that Utd and Neymar story true. I hate the fucking media, they just make shit up and aready never held accountable. We could get Bale and Ronaldo for 240 million pounds why the fuck would we want Neymar for the most ridiculous amount of money ever mentioned in a football transfer, since Barca paid his dad 30 odd million for fuck all!

Its the usual "written on a beermat in the local shit-tip curry house, the night before" story that makes the back pages of a dying media format.

We've got Arsenal at home in the League Cup third round. Bring it on.
