Meh, there are other options for Spurs (Pochettino, Frank de Boer, Allegri) but LVG is clearly at the top of the pile and for good reason.

Could be awkward, Relying on Torres or Ba. Certainly makes next weekend a little more interesting.

I'm not sure it matters since Eto is the best of what is a really a bad attack force and without him and Hazard it'll make it even harder if not impossible to win the next few games, plus we are without Matic as well.

Attack has been our problem all season and it shows most when your defence has a bad day since you need to outscore the other, something we fail to do against teams like Sunderland and something Liverpool have done well against most teams including Norwich.

I suppose the one bit of good news for Chelsea is that idiot Ramires will probably never play another league game for Chelsea :)

I have no idea what managers are available atm or who's been in the picture to take over. Any words on that yet?

The sad part is if the players were not playing for him which is possible given the ego's in play then no matter who is in charge they will probably win every game for the rest of the season.

On Sky sports the guy from the supporters trust was actually really sensible as he laid the blame firmly at the Glazers feet. When asked why they were doing so badly this season he said it was all down to lack of investment and the squad getting older. I was shocked he did not just sell out Moyes.

And Moyes walked away so no £40m pay day.

I was prepared to cut Moyes a lot of slack in his first season, but it became increasingly obvious that he had no clue tactically, although its difficult to understand why. At Everton, despite the myths, he wasn't tactically limited (as he proved, ironically, against United last season) but he was like a rabbit in the headlights this year, especially at OT.

I do agree that the Glazers need to foot a large chunk of the blame for the under-investment in players, and Ferguson is complicit in that as well with his "no-value-in-the-market" horseshit that stopped United buying a midfield for five years; but, I don't think that Moyes would have made a success of it even if United had invested, and his first, and biggest, mistake was bringing in his own coaching staff instead of going for some continuity.

I actually think that ultimately, while United wanted to be this bastion of long-term management continuity, that model is simply impossible to implement now; how does a manager who's won nothing get the respect of players who've won everything, several times over? And if you're a manager who comes in and has won everything (like a Mourinho), chances are you're not going to be the type who wants to stay at one club for donkey's years.

Shut up. Thanks.

My only thought for optimism is that he would want more of a challenge for his swan song. And think about his ego and how much better he would look if he made something of us rather than just steadying the ship at United. We've done our overhaul, we're a team that's pretty much ready to be managed. Van Gaal doesn't like transfering players, he likes to work with what he has and there's no two ways about it, United need to transfer players (in and out).

Surely Moyes to Spurs is pretty much a certainty now? ;)
