Their bids have been frankly insulting though; I think Newcastle turned down a bit of £20m for Cabaye this time last year didn't they? And Pogba is worth a boatload more than £20m (in relative terms, compared to prices being paid for other players).

I think if Chelsea really want Rooney they should offer Torres to Liverpool at a good price, Liverpool would be more willing to sell Suarez to Arsenal then and thus remove the other club potentially chasing Rooney...though really I can't see either moving in this transfer window.
