To be fair that's what David Dein was good at back in the day, your transfer action has definitely nosedived since he left.

Yeah Ivan Gazidis does not and has never filled me with confidence. The arseblog questioned how much Kroenke actually cares as he seems to stay out of it and they wondered short of us losing £20m a season will he get involved.

At the moment Wenger does not let Gazidis do his thing. Either that or he is shit at his job. Either way someone needs to step in and make something happen. Either Wenger needs to trust the guy or one of them needs to go this can not go on.

Please tell me the one from November 12th 2012 said that he blamed "not scoring" for their defeat. :)

Wow, he did actually say that. Also slightly confusing that there is a nufcblog.com and a nufcblog.org and they are totally separate it seems.
Holy feck at Sociedads goals :)
Yup, their second was a bit of alright as well...

He's pretty much just a running joke now with his utter horse shit excuses. I do somewhat feel sorry for him mind, being totally hung out to dry by Ashley and Kinnear.

This is the problem they are going to face with anyone that they make a bid for, others will come in.

Either they keep any bids quiet or they undo all the hard work in saving money and pay over the odds for players.

Or they admit defeat and start thinking about next season (Again)

Either way, Wenger has to go

This reads like he knew we would be quiet until the last 10 days. Is the man off his head. If we lose tonight no one who wants champions league football will touch us. I do not know if he is talking shite or if he thinks he will get a load of bargains in the last 4 hours!

To be replaced with who - great managers are thin on the ground.

Wenger has produced amazing consistency with very little investment.

The game has changed - unless Arsenal get a sugar daddy they wont really be title contenders realistically.

What you just said there was "football is pointless now that money rules the game".

'tis true, sadly :(

There is the problem. Usmanov is the richest guy in Brittan. It looks like he wants to be a sugar daddy but we are waiting and hoping the FFP will come in a mean something which will leave us in a strong position.

In reality if Uefa tried to ban one of the bigger teams you would just see a Super League created.

Not pointless but for the second tier its all about competitions rather than the league.

As a supporter of a lower league team there is just no way we could ever get up to the premiership, the fan base just isn't there to attract advertising money let alone gate receipts, Northampton is a Rugby town rather than football. Even if by some freak accident we managed to get players good enough to make it we would plummet just like other small clubs have.

It's been the case for years though, I don't really have a problem with it as a follower of the premiership rather than any individual team.

Willian is done and dusted*, Lamela is having his medical today*, Coentrao* + £80m is coming our way* when Bale goes to RM*.

My mate is convinced that the moment the Bale deal goes through (if it does, which imo it seems likely at this point), Ronaldo is going to Man Utd. Would love to see Ronaldo back in the EPL but I can't see him leaving RM.

I can't see it either, he's got a much better team around him at RM and Moyes has exactly zero experience dealing with someone with such a reputation and presence... I don't see them bringing him in in Moyes' first season, if at all.
Arsenal are hopeful that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's verdict on his knee injury proves to be on the pessimistic side. The England midfielder has claimed he faces a three-month lay-off, while manager Arsene Wenger is reckoning on being without the 20-year-old for "at least six weeks".

Wenger attempted to quell fears over a long-term absence when he spoke ahead of the Champions League play-off first leg against Fenerbahce, but hours later Oxlade-Chamberlain detailed on his Twitter page that he was facing three months out of the game.

Oxlade-Chamberlain wrote: "Gutted i'm injured so early in the season, But I'm going to be working hard to hopefully be back playing in 3 months. Thanks 4 all ur support."

It was a different take on his situation to Wenger's own appraisal, after the Frenchman said: "He will be out for at least six weeks, he has a posterior cruciate problem, a ligament which is stretched."
I thought they might be a bit unhappy with AOC for that tweet, after his manager came out and said something completely different.

So ive currently been auditing a professional football club in the football league. leagues 2 and 1 and this year, the championship are subject to the new fifa fair play rules. At the moment, the same said rules will apply to the premierleague from next season or the season after. Want to know how much of a mockery they are? Well, at the moment, a club is allowed to spend 55% of various income streams such as gate receipts, bar receipts, advertising, money from the FA etc on wages. If they are over this 55% they get hit with a transfer embargo. However, and here is the mockery bit, to make up the short fall of income, someone is allowed to put their own money in as a donation and 100% of this donation is allowed to be spent on wages, not just 55%! So in effect, Man City and Chelsea will be no different as they are now as they have owners who are rich enough personally to put their own money into the club.

Always is a loop hole.
