I thought Spurs were very unlucky, they should have scored twice when it seemed harder to miss than score.

And is Gary Neville really saying it does not matter if it is a dive if the defender slides in then the striker is entitled to dive?

What's he supposed to do?

He can't run anywhere - the defender has seen to that (illegally). Therefore you either go to ground (which he did) or do some stupid "must leave trailing leg so defender actually makes contact" shite.

And it's Gary Neville saying that.

I think you're just sour because you're now favourites to finish fourth...

Lots of people that wrote Liverpool off at the start of the season have gone rather quiet of late.

Funny.

I've been going to the Southbank in Nottingham to watch the big games for nine or ten years now. It's always been a good crack - lots of mancs and scousers having a bit of good natured banter.

There wasn't a single manc fan in there today that I could identify. Not one.

What a load, the defender did not move the ball and did not touch the player. He did not force him to run away from goal he did that all himself. If he had gone towards goal then the defender gets the ball and it is fine but instead he lost control of the ball and took a dive.

It was a blatant dive...

Defender dived in recklessly, scissored either side of player and got nowhere near the ball, player went down.

Gary Neville, massive manc who, publically, hates Liverpool, says "fair enough".

Job done.

If you believe he was right to dive or worse you think it was not a dive because a defender decided to make a tackle that did not touch or stop the player at all then I am stunned that is a new level of Liverpool blinkers. No other fan on here would argue it is not a blatant dive.

I'm not arguing it's not a blatant dive. If you rereead my posts, and see that I've already clicked on agree on Cal's post then you'll see that.

I'm saying, like Gary Neville said, what else is he gonna do when Vidic dives in like that? It's a fucking retarded failed challenge.

On top of that, it's not even a decisive moment in the match. Man U were panned all over the pitch today. They deservedly lost.

He could put his hands up and tell the ref it isn't a pen, for a start.

Lol!

Yeah. Keep dreaming.

It happens. It's a pity it doesn't happen more often.

After that dive-in by Vidic if Sturridge had gone "let him off ref" I think most people would go "what's fucking wrong with the lad".

Fowler's done it. But it was different circumstances. And either way - the game didn't hang on it.

I'm betting the MOTD commentators feel the same way this evening.

Really? You're going to post a clip of a video that did the rounds as soon as he was announced as interim manager/coach/whatever? Also, I'm not sure if you're familiar with the concept of tenses...

It's a joke, chill the fuck out.

Anyway I was using it as an excuse as to why you were so poor today, Sherwood didn't want your lot winning. Either that or you had absolutely zero creativity in the final third short of lumping it in there for Adebayor. One of 'em.

How about stay on his feet. He did not need to dive he could have tried to keep the ball under control rather than poking it out of play and diving. The non challenge is only retarded now because we accept that strikers should look for a penalty rather than trying to score. All Vidic did was open the door for him to cheat. He did not have to cheat at all. Stay on your feet try to keep the ball in play and score.

Watching Utd yesterday I got the feeling that Rooney is the only one trying. Mata spent the afternoon on a relaxing stroll, the rest of the midfield were totally ineffective and the defense was shocking. Worst Utd display I've ever seen.

Arsenal game was nerve racking to watch we played well for 20 minutes then just kept giving the ball back. I thought Wenger should have swapped Giroud for Sanogo. We were breaking the spuds high line so many times but did not have the pace to capitalise on it. Bad miss by Alex. We really need some pace on the left wing and Podolski is not it.

My only fear is that they fuck it up *so* badly that they scrap their "give the manager time" beliefs, sack Moyes and snap up Van Gaal. I'd hope he would still take us on though, he might see it as more of a challenge for his swansong.

I think they thought that champions league qualification would be guaranteed. Not many people thought they would collapse so spectacularly. Moyes is a good manager who did very good things at Everton, he isn't an idiot and a lot of the blame can be levelled at UTD players who just aren't good enough this season.

I don't think they will sack Moyes, certainly not this season. If things go south next season after he is given the chance to bring players in then yes, he will be sacked.

Christ, if Moyes being the boss hinges on their next few results, he's fucked.

He's fucked then. Its increasingly obvious this isn't about the lack of signings, this is tactical ineptitude. These players didn't suddenly become that shit. Last year Rooney and RvP played beautiful co-ordinated football, now its like they're on two different teams. The training isn't working, but worse Moyes shows no indication he knows how to respond when plan A isn't working (and plan A is usually wide players crossing and....that's it.)

I certainly don't think SAF would have had these players at the top of the table this season (unless he's spent at least some money), but he would have had them in the hunt. I'm beginning to think Moyes is the sacrificial goat; take on a grumpy Scotsman to show faith in the Ferguson long-term way, bin him off when he can't hack it and get on the management merry-go-round with every other big European team.

The players lack of confidence in Moyes is having an impact. The squad is a year older and the players are far from giving their all for Moyes. With the exception of Rooney they looked like they did not give a toss this weekend.

Hngh.

Hands. OFF.

Apparently a senior player (thought to be Giggs) ripped into Moyes and the coaching staff. If you don't have Giggs on your side, you're surely on very thin ice.

We might have to play Sandro and Fryers as CB's on Thursday. Dawson, Chiriches and Kaboul are all injured and Vertonghen is suspended. :(
