Fair result it sounds. Penalty was harsh - but an easy mistake to make from where the ref was. Luiz' free kick made amends.

So he can do that. What did he do? I missed most of the match.

How on earth was that ever a penalty?

IKR. One of the most ludicrous decisions I've ever seen.

Luiz is a lucky boy though. He's been doing that kind of stuff far too often this season. Unnecessary.

I love Chelsea articles in the news, never just a 'oh they won, pretty decent game'

It just ends up being 'SUPER NAZI MONSTER LUIZ WITH HORRIFIC CHALLENGE SENDS BASEL PLAYER INTO HELL FIRE BOOM EXPLOSIONS OMG A FOOTBALL GAME HAPPENED?'

I wish they'd focus on the football, not the stupidity within the game.

Aww, he's lovely. I just love the idea of not taking *any* of that into account when a ban is being decided.

The sooner he fucks off to Spain the better.

No, we already lost ballotelli, it's good to have loose cannons like him in the league. Keeps it entertaining, and he is a brilliant footballer despite the shit.

Balotelli was genuinely entertaining, Suarez is just a really unpleasant piece of shit.

Who has lit up the league with some virtuoso performances and stunning goals, he's carried liverpool more than bale has spurs.

I think he's a horrible cunt, and I love berating him, however I also appreciate watching him in the premier league.

The difference between Suarez and Balotelli is that Suarez turns into a cunt on the pitch. Off it he seems fine.

Balotelli is always a cunt. A man that thinks it's acceptable to throw darts at other humans is not entertaining. He's a cunt.

I don't think you can compare what can only be described as (very) dumb antics from Balotelli with a real intent to damage other players, time and time again, from Suarez. He has a real nasty streak that has no place in the game, no matter how brilliant his play can be.

But you did?

And are you forgetting the amount of red cards Balotelli got for violent challenges? Remember Arsenal and all the other matches?

Such blinkers on. Balotelli is a cunt. He is equally violent on the pitch, but is so off it as well. For some reason though people defend him thinking he's a funny LAD. He's not.

I think the only defence of Balotelli is that some of his antics are down to immaturity, he's still only 22 (which doesn't mean I think his behaviour is acceptable; he's a right prick), Suarez doesn't even have that excuse.

At least put the quote in the right thread, Wazz. :) And I fully remember that stamp (and Suarez kicking Parker as well. Leave poor Scotty alone ffs :eek:) but I still think Suarez has done a lot more hurty things on the pitch than Balotelli.

If there's a stat that says otherwise, bring it to the thread and I will consider myself corrected. Pointless suggestion actually, there could be any number of things either player has done that weren't noticed by the ref and carded or whatever.

Did Mario throw some darts at you?

He was sent off FOUR times last season alone and escaped many more.

Well that was a very long a whaffley way of saying, "we're giving you a big ban because we want to". I'm glad Suarez got a big ban but that document didn't really give a rational justification. Got to admit I'm actually quite surprised by the rules for increasing sanction:

FA Handbook Schedule A said:
a. The applicable Law(s) of the Game and any relevant FIFA instructions and / or guidelines;
b. The nature of the incident and the Player’s state of mind, in particular anyintent, recklessness or negligence;
c. Where applicable, the level of force used;
d. Any injury to an opponent caused by the incident;
e. Any other impact on the game in which the incident occurred;
f. The prevalence of the type of incident in question in football generally;
g. The wider interests of football in applying consistent punishments for dismissal offences.

There's nothing in there about previous offences (which surprised me given that Suarez' bans seem to be on a linear growth curve), although maybe its in point a. which seems to be a "we can always blame FIFA" clause. And it looks like the judgement relies pretty much on f. and g, with the latter in particular being a useful catch all, and they seem to be saying "we're setting a biting precedent right here".
