quality of passing by both sides is fucking diabolical. Good game to watch though. If it stays at 3-1 that would be a good set up for the Bernabau.

"This Dortmund team, who are set to make it into the Champions Leavue final, cost less than Andy Carroll. Just let that sink in."

It's not about just one incident though, it's about consistently being a cunt. Punishments are given to discourage repeated bad behaviour, forgetting the fact they obviously don't work, when someone is a repeat offender it makes sense given the framework these punishments are given out within for the punishments to get increasingly harsher each time someone commits some kind of offence. I just find it fucking astounding that someone who is always in trouble for various things to actually believe they are being "victimised". You break the rules, you get punished - it doesn't matter if you think the rules are right or not. As Raven said, if he doesn't like it then he can gladly fuck off. No one will miss the little rat cunt.

I think Roy Keane got a £5000 fine and a 3 match ban. Defoe got nothing.

Ten matches is a bit harsh tbfh.

No its not. He's already had a seven match ban and an eight match ban and the stupid prick carries on being an absolute bellend. He's bitten another player twice now, no excuses.

I'm not excusing him. I'm just saying in the big scheme of things did he deliberately and horrendously break Alf-Inge Haaland's leg, ruining his career? Did Defoe get anything for what is, the FA says, "an exceptional circumstance"?

In terms of violent conduct there are many worse offenses out there - including Roy Keane's criminal scum cunt offence and Defoe's identikit offence.

Ten match ban is harsh.

Ten matchs would be harsh and unfair if this was his first major offence, but its not so what would be the point of giving a smaller ban because he has shown its not enough to stop him

its not harsh its as it should be .. if you get a 7 match ban for the same offence and do the self same thing again then the ban should be longer. Its not like it was a shocking tackle that although bad tackling is part of the game. Biting in no way shape or form is part of the game. Like Cantona ban he got for 8 months .. nothing to do with the game or a late or mistimed tackle that could be done in the heat of the moment. you dont bite someone in the heat of the moment by accident

Bans don't change behaviour. Murder is a life sentence and that doesn't stop people, does it? He needs psychological assessment and ongoing counselling - and a length of ban that fits the "crime".

Roy Keane needed jail time for deliberately breaking someone's leg, but he got a 3 match ban. Defoe got nothing - although the FA can retrospectively hand out bans for what they deem "exceptional" circumstances - which is what they've defined biting as.

Instead of being bitter about the FA getting it wrong in the past, perhaps we should be celebrating that they've got it right this time. AFAIK Suarez was offered anger management/counselling by the PFA, which clearly is the path he needs to reform his behaviour.

Ten match ban is harsh.

In Defoe's case - first offence, and within the FA's own rules, retrospective punishment wasn't possible at the time. In Keane's case, we didn't know the full facts about Haaland until he published his autobiography years after the fact, so on the information the FA had at the time, then it was treated as a footballing incident. Personally I think Keane should have faced criminal charges once the memoirs came out, but that's a separate issue.

The only case where you can say Suarez has a point is his racism ban v. Terry's; that's definitely an inconsistency.

For the Defoe case I thought "exceptional circumstances" has always been on the FA's statute books.

I'll give you the Keane one. Maybe if someone makes a complaint to the police he'll get arrested.

The Suarez/Terry debacle is a joke tbfh. No solid proof against Suarez and clear language differences vs clear video?

I don't blame Suarez for feeling victimised.

10 games for a bite vs 4 games for calling someone a fucking black cunt...

If terry is caught being racist again he will get much more than 4 games tho, because it will be a repeat offence. The problem your not accepting is this is a repeat offence.

There's a massive difference between verbal and physical violence though.
