Deal is done, complete gamble for £25m but let's be optimistic and say he fullfils his potential - that's a damn fine array of attacking talent we have now. Hazard, Mata, Marin, De Bruyne, Oscar, Paizon, McEachran - all able to play in that '3' in Di Matteo's 4231. Over compensation for our lacking in that area over recent years I think.

Hoping the next signing we make will be a right back. ;x

Maybe a bit too much talent? Can't imagine Hazard and Mata (or Oscar) being happy being on the bench a lot of games which might mean the progress of a lot of those name could be hampered. But a damn interesting team.

Personally, I've been hating Liverpool since the seventies. I'm not one of those johnny-come-lately Liverpool-haters. I hated Kevin Keegan's stupid hair and Emlyn Hughes' silly voice and Jan Molby's Scouse accent. I hated Ian Rush's nose and the entire collection of 1980s Liverpool moustaches. I hated Bruce Grobbelar's bendy legs (and moustache), Graham Souness's hard man act (and moustache) and John Aldridge's fake Irishness (and moustache). Last season was particularly great because I got the opportunity to hate Kenny Dalglish all over again. And who doesn't enjoy that?

Liverpool fans do a very good job of ensuring they're a hated team. If they were remotely human they wouldn't have this issue. Even Spurs fans seem sane and logical by comparison.

Liverpool fans always have an over inflated sense of greatness regarding their club, that is the reason I love to see them lose. They are an average team who are in decline. Hilarious player deals, coupled with ruining previously decent footballers add to the amusement/annoyance.

Yeah, I'm worried for exactly those reasons. I suppose it's a 'good problem' to have, and both Mourinho and Mancini most recently have successfully managed squads brimming with talent. I suppose the argument would be that when competing on many different fronts, you need a deep and talented squad. Still, it's definitely a concern that some of these players will get frustrated.

Lets face it, unless your board decides to start spending some wonga you're as unlikely as we are to ever win the league again. The league is for clubs with a fuckload of cash to spunk on expensive and proven talent. Chelski and City are the proof - as is Liverpool - who've never had that level of wonga and a benefactor who could provide it. It's why David "I don't have the cash" Moores sold LFC, admittedly to a couple of asset-strippers, and Christian Purslow admitted that NESV was "scraping the bottom of the barrel"...

So, we've got our history. We know we can't compete. You guys hate us for something you know you can never take away

Answers to what? Your club having a good history? What is there to answer to facts? The point I was making is that your attitude towards it, along with every other Liverpool fan I know, is abhorrent. I celebrate the fact that my club is going through a good period, I enjoy it, but I guarantee you in ten years time if Chelsea are shit again I won't spend my time harping on about how great we used to be. And I certainly won't get my kicks from being an egregious little prick who spends their time crying about how everyone hates my club, then spending the rest of my time being as irritating as possible to ensure it continues.
