So its like every other league then?

It's more exciting than ever, more teams competing for the champions league spots than before, title race going down to the last kick, relegation battle engulfing half the bottom half of the table. Ok so maybe not for Liverpool, boo hoo.

More teams with money that we'll never be able to mix it up with.

West Brom aside, fluke!

Swansea are showing what can be done with the right manager and squad. Wenger had that, we were not so rich when he came in but his tactics and ability to put a team together really made us. But now 4th is what they are aiming for. City made a 3 man £100m substitution the other week how many PL squads cost £100m to put together?

UEFA fine Serbia a MASSIVE £66k for violent and racist abuse.

£14k less than Bendtner's cheeky pants.

Which, come the end of the season, will be fuck and all.

They can't win it. They won't win it. They don't have the cash.

Cash isn't the be all and end all. Doesn't matter if Swansea don't win anything, they could still go to Europe, which is huge for a club like Swansea.

Gervinho has been called up to Ivory Coast squad, with players missing for up to a month this could hurt a few teams Tiote and Yaya being two big players for their clubs.

It is though without rich owners neither the Chavs or City would of touched the league title it is that simple. To win the Premiership you need owners who are willing to throw money away.

I understand with Lampard, but not with Cole. Cole has shown this year that he can still do it at the very top level, Lamps not so much. He says in that interview he thinks he still has 2 or 3 years in him at the top level... nah.

Maybe not, but it's definitely given more competition throughout the league. I think the lower down the league teams make smarter buys for less money for sure, the clubs splash XXmillion on these players to under perform, where as Swansea drop 2mil (iirc) on Michu, and he's an incredible player.

Also, it's just just City & Chelsea that throw money away, Liverpool had the bollocks to spunk 35 million on Carroll, Downing for 20 million etc.

Yes but the point it that Liverpool spunked that money and no more. If Liverpool had a Abramobitch type owner then the next January they would of spent another £100m to start competing again. If that failed then a new manager and another £100m. Only two clubs can do that. Man U are a different animal. They have enough earning power that they do not need to worry about borrowing £100m to purchase a superstar and then pay it off in time.

I would love to see a team like Swansea win the league off their own back but I just do not see it coming. When Man City can make a substitution that costs more than most squads it is not a even playing field and I for one think the league suffers as a result. It is like a millionaire showing up to Sunday racing in a custom built car and destroying the weekend warriors in real bangers.

If that happens Arsenal fans need to stop buying season tickets.
I would not say that. If we bend over backwards we give Theo his £120k a week for 4 years. We give him his £6m signing on fee and we give his agent the £3m he wants. That is just short of £34 million for a player 90% of people think is not worth £60k a week. Plus it means even more people Sagna for one will make any demands he wants and we will be even more fucked than we are now.

Theo is good and I would like to see him stay but we can't keep getting bossed about by players.

Arseblog is reporting that the following players are very close to in some cases and have already signed in others new deals. Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Carl Jenkinson.

While it is good that we are trying to avoid the 2 year contract dilemma some of the players worry me. Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs for example. Ramsey has not made it back to his best since the injury so I hope his deal is just an extension and not a massive pay rise. Gibbs is also very injury prone so giving him a long term contract with a big pay rise could be seen as a big risk. If either of them end up not playing we could end up with another two squad players on big wages that we can't shift. It could be like Diaby great when he plays but he only manages about 8 games a season, I would love to keep him on a £10k a week when injured £40k more when fit and playing, but I don't see Ramsey or Gibbs signing a deal like that.

If we sell sturridge and get theo.. Fuck that

Theo's a bazillion times better than Sturridge tbfh.

I don't particularly like either - but I'd have Theo over Sturridge in a flash.

He could be, given the chance to play.

He should go out on loan again.

Did Sturridge not say he did not want to go out on loan?
