I think being honest about it helped. From the replay you do see him try to pull his foot out to be fair.

aye, totally agree. He did try to pull out the tackle, just no chance to do so with a lunge. Was good to see a player instantly go "sorry, i fucked up" though he done so to limit the punishment it makes a change not to see a denial

I've just seen the Lampard challenge, how was that not a red when Mijilas's was against Arsenal? I hope Wolves ask for an explanation from the FA.

Can only guess the "pull out" was deemed enough by the ref. Still think it probably should have been red as they are given for less but i given up asking for consistancy from refs

to be fair, that celebration didnt look good for avb. None of the players embraced him and he ended up walking away ignored whilst other bench staff were hugged. lol

What did Mr Barton do today then? "Violent conduct" sounds about right but it's not very specific...

Commentator summed Gervinho perfectly there. He gets into dangerous positions all the time but then makes a mess of it.

But that only makes half a forward. Anyone can get into "dangerous positions", especially a forward such as he, i'd hardly call that talent. Its the end part which often distinguishes the good and bad forwards.

And while i'm in a picky ass mood, why is Walcott still a number 1 choice. I think he's far overrated, but then will score a hatrick vs someone scrap like Blackburn and that reinstates his place for the next several months.

Another pen not given to us this season, argh! Should be more clear in this game, hopefully we can continue to control in the 2nd half and get another earlyish.

Barnsley fans were apparently singing "Where's your baby gone" to Billy Sharp today...

If true they should round up everyone who sung that and shoot them in the head.. Plain and simple.

Villa fans used to sing that to Karen Brady at Birmingham. Classy bunch.
