No there isn't, the rules have a 3 year break in period, they can stop spending now and won't risk losing out until 2014 iirc.

Yes, they lose out then, but this spending will be taken into account for then. So what the point of playing for a couple of years and then finding you banned from it. Even if you are defending champion they wouldnt let you compete.

Guy in charge of City will win the CL and fuck off so after that the wage bill will come right down anyway :)

Hazard will be an possibility I suppose, whether he will be allowed to move is another question.

Was listening to TalkSport on my lunch break and they were talking Philippe Auclair about Hazard. Apparently the quoted figure of £26m that Arsenal want to pay is way below what Lille want, and moreover they already lost a lot of their best players and really do not want to sell.

Never say never, obviously, but it doesn't look like a go-er to me.

Corran; I doubt they've not taken that into account, I'm sure they have very good legal advisor's and accountants.

I also doubt UEFA want to actually ban anyone, they will be talking to clubs to ensure they don't fall foul.

I doubt Man U would pay £205k a week (if that figure is real) and City have a chance at silverware so why wait for less money? Prestige in our league really means nothing to a foreign player, Its a great sound bite but not important at the end of the day.

He did state his original preference was for United but that Arsenal wouldn't sell to United (but would sell to City, which is retarded if Arsenal were concerned about selling to a competitor).

I can understand Nasri simply taking the money, he's gone for the bird in the hand, because lets face it, he could have a shit season with Arsenal and be on no-one's buy list next summer, so you can't blame him for going to play for the noisy neighbours.

Ooh, I dunno, I think Platini would love to make an example of someone (someone English, obviously).

Will be interesting to see how Nasri fits in to be honest. I hope City have a nice comfortable bench for James Milner and Adam Johnson either way. In the case of Johnson, I think it's such a sad waste. He's an absolutely fantastic player but he's just rotting at City. He won't be the first or last either, sadly.

I realise Chelsea have been guilty of doing the same in the past with players like Wright-Philips, Sidwell and Parker, but City are taking it to a whole new level with the amount of ridiculous talent they can have on the bench (or in some cases not even making the bench) at any one time.

I doubt Man U were offering anywhere in the league of £25m for a player with a year of contract left? I have decided I believe there is hush money in this deal its the only way Nasri is worth £25m for 1 season.

That or Man City actually just wanted the player and have no need to worry about spending £25m. ;)

Arsene Wenger last month
"Imagine the worst situation - we lose Fabregas and Nasri," said the Arsenal manager. "You cannot convince people you are ambitious after that. You cannot pretend you are a big club.
"A big club holds onto its big players and gives a message out to all the other big clubs that they just cannot come in and take [players] away from you.

Good player when on form, but where the fuck does he fit at City anyway? I hope they get an injury to some defenders and central midfielders and realise their squad is really unbalanced :p

Sky Sports News saying we've made an official bid for Porto's Alvaro Pereira, which makes no sense. We don't need another left-back.

Yeah but we've had Bertrand and PVA both out on loan playing well in the championship for the last few years and whenever they've had a cameo in the first team they've been good, seems retarded not to use them.

Zhirkov wasn't really a left back either to be honest. Sure he could play there, but he was much better as a winger.

No. He's taken the players that aren't good enough and loaned the ones that might be.

Wenger is allowed on the bench tomorrow, UEFA have delayed his ban.

tbh, UEFA should have given him a suspended ban, he really didn't do wrong, the UEFA officials did.

I think Bruce is having a laugh with his team selection. We are lining up with what looks like 8 midfielders in the team.

Even I knew the rules about UEFA bans, why didn't he?

Well I'm not sure what to believe, they have different bans apparently, and the club checked with the referee. Now if that's true, its UEFA's error and Wenger stopped once they told him otherwise.

Sky being cunts has caused this, nothing else. A pointless ban in the first place anyway, we all know Barca are cheating cunts :)

Anzhi announce Eto'o deal | Inter Milan Football News, Fixtures, Results, Table | Sky Sports

Over 20m a year after tax, insane :p Fair play to him, won almost everything in Europe, might as well make a fucking mint before retiring.

I guess Sneijder to Man Utd is definitely off, although it never looked on.

Wrong, sky are headlining as usual. BBC Sport - Russian club close the deal to sign Samuel Eto'o

However, Udaltsov (club spokesman) told BBC Sport's news correspondent Dan Roan that Eto'o's annual salary would be significantly less and would put him behind Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, who reportedly earns 12m euros (£10.5m) a year.

"He's very well known over the world," Udaltsov, who confirmed Inter would receive 15m euros (£13.1m) now and 6m euros (£5.2m) in two months.

So Meireles gets dropped because he's too old at 28 but Bellamy can come in at 32 on nearly 100k a week? lolwut

Few cup upsets in the making tonight, QPR getting beat, Norwich getting humped and we're making hard work of Brighton, though thankfully we now have 3 strikers on the pitch.
