Not to mention we apparently sold Meireles for less than we bought him for ..

Two separate things.

Got rid of Ngog (good) replaced him with Bellamy for free. Therefore it's an upgrade (Bellamy's better than Ngog) and we made money off the deal.

Meireles was bought for 11.5 and sold for 12. So small profit.

Cracking creative player tho - so shame to go - but had one big weakness - he couldn't tackle for fuck and therefore doesn't fit into Dalgleish's plan...

...time will tell...

AKA Not wealthy enough to be a full-on sugar daddy. Money talks in the Premier League, and only teams with money are going to be finishing in the Champions League places anytime soon ... making them even richer.

It is getting pretty boring for the rest of us. The old football league was much more enjoyable - you could be promoted one season and be fighting for the title the next. Now it is stratified and, well, dull.

I agree its becoming dull. I took much more interest in deadline day than I actually do in watching premier league football these days
