Called it. :D. If I was an Arsenal fan id have slit my wrists.

Arsenal needs a change of direction, has Wenger got clouded by his own delusions? Yes in my opinion. This will be an embarrassing year for the North London clubs. Mark my words.

Surely there is a chance that if things don't change RVP might hit the escape hatch?

#earlier in this thread, someone was questioning what happened to kaka - well he was injured for ages, then struggling for fitness and trying to get into a team that was working.

He's looking very awesome again though, one goal and one assist last night.

What a load of bollocks. During his time with us he made the top ten of all time Premier League goal creators. He didn't have the best season last year but that is mostly because of Houllier and his shit tactics ... in the O'Neill period he was excellent week in and week out.

Downing has played really good as well imo. He haven't had the flying start of Young but has been close or been MOTM all games this season so far. Unlucky not to have scored, his width and interplay with Suarez has been excellent. Must sting real bad to have lost those two.

Downing is a very good player, criminally underrated by the plastic Man United fans of course :m00: They only remember him for playing in an underperforming England team managed by Steve Maclaren.

Very happy for Young, he paid his dues and now people are recognising him for the quality player that he is and was turned into by O'Neill and his coaches. He is benefitting from playing in a team where defenders can't afford to double mark you, utter bullshit about 'stepping up' etc.

I don't blame Downing for leaving as he saw the writing of "Mediocrity" clearly on the wall from Lerner and co. But it does leave a bad taste considering we only had one complete season out of him.

Have to say I find it quite amusing that Ashley Young, who apparently 'robbed' Stephen Ireland of young player of the year three years ago is now awesome in the eyes of some posters. Whereas Ireland sits nailed to our bench ... completely overrated, half-mad fella that he is.

That's the least they should do, the established players RVP, Rosicky, Arshavin ect should be stumping up the travel money themselves.

And I had heard RVP had contract talks this week before the Interlul I wonder how they will go.

Behave yourself. The manager picks the team and decides the tactics, not them. Wenger could have recognised the limitations of the team he had available and played a much deeper and more negative game, but his pride and belief he could go toe-to-toe with United was the cause of yesterday's shellacking. United would still have won, of that I have no doubt, but not with that anihillation, which was entirely down to Wenger's tactics (you can make a defence for Wenger over strategy; part of his problems are caused by the board, but that doesn't excuse his tactics on the day).

Sorry but the effort some of the kids like Jenkinson put in really showed up some of the pros. If all of our players had put that effort in and we still lost it's easier to stomach. But with a 5 goal lead Rooney was still tracking back with more urgency than Arshavin was and that is not acceptable.

Yes Wenger needs to take a lot of the blame and not just for the tactics.

All it took for the last hour was United to hoof the ball behind your defence and they had a good chance of scoring, why keep such a high line and such an attacking game in that situation?

Because he has no other plan, he never has had. I am not saying Wenger is blameless just that the effort put in by some of the players was a massive let down to the away fans.

See I don't buy that, Wenger is prefectly capable of putting out a defensive team; he used to do it all the time. He knows how, he just won't let himself betray what he sees as a footballing principle and that pride thing will just kill you eventually.

He could when he had the players. The current player who are quick and skilful are not suited to sitting back and grinding out a result. He purchased a lot of the team that went unbeaten so he could do it again. He needs to find the balance of Muscel down the spine and flare on the wings.

Sounds like Traore is off to QPR on loan, obviously he's way too shit for Arsenal but surely he's better than having nobody? Arsenal's only fullbacks are now Sagna, Jenkinson and Gibbs...

Who knows, maybe they'll actually buy someone! Moyes admitted that Everton are in the selling market.
