I actually listened to his full interview on talk soprt this morning, and he's not being ignorant.

What he said was that before someone is declared a racist across the world the case should be looked at with both parties and discussed in depth. He went on to say that one of his best friends Fernando Cacecres when talked about in the newspapers in Uraguay is referred to as Negro Cacecres. He explained that there are massive cultural differences and what is perfectly acceptable in some countries, is deemed Politically incorrect in our own. So instead of the FA telling everyone in the world that Suarez is a rascist, Poyet wanted them to discuss what was said and what context it was said in.

A complete different case to the JT incident because he knows what this country is like and he could have easily just called Anton a c**t but it appears that he has added black beforehand.

I see.. that said I always thought Uruguay was the more tolerant of the latin countries.. weren't they the first team to play black players? I can hardly see it being a racist society considering how mixed the population is.

Suarez has been in the UK long enough to know that calling someone negro (which is what i assume he was saying from the information) isn't acceptable there.

That's my point, he actually went more in depth with during the interview and the presenters were quite shocked that he was so open about it. Calling his mate Negro Cacares isn't intended as an insult it's just what they call him http://www.losandes.com.ar/notas/2009/11/1/un-454615.asp His nickname is El Negro!!

Thats true, when I was in El Paso there was sweets called 'Negro Pods'.. I actually got a pic for loling.

That is fecking insane.

They don't have a prayer of meeting the financial fair play rules over the next 3 years, but its surprising how quickly they could turn a loss to a profit, even with their wage bill (which actually isn't much higher than United's). They need to ramp up commercial revenues, but their sneaky Etihad deal gives them a leg up (even if it is one hand washing the other, it doesn't actually break UEFA rules) by 40M a year (they need 110M a year to match United), and the media revenues will ramp so long as they do well in the CL. Their biggest problem is the stadium; United can routinely earn 40M a year more than City because of the size of OT. City want to increase to 60K but they won't be able to do it in time, and will need to make sure the capital spend is amortised extremely slowly (not such a big deal with building projects) or that could hurt the bottom line as well.

I heard he said "Negrito" which apparently means mate down there. Although I think he was aware of that it could offend Evra :p

Chicarito also uses that term to describe his mates :p

The story i heard is that Evra has a nickname like "Black Mumba" (made up but his nickname has black in it) Suarez heard the Man U players calling him it. Then Suarez called him it in a piss taking way and Evra has decided that he was racist, and because Suarez says "Black...." the FA have to act.

The thing that worries me is with the Blatter situation he could get scape goated, and if he is just repeating a nickname it would seem harsh to me.

Fingers crossed for a draw for us today, I can't in all honesty see us getting any more than that with the form Man City are in.
