well theres a pretty undeserved point against a pretty average QPR team. doesnt bode well for the rest of the season :( no passion and second to just about everything.

At Hansen is entertaining because of his shitness, Shearer is just painful.

Very good point for Newcastle, they should have put Ba on earlier though, much better team with him on. Two points lost by QPR, they should have won it by 3 clear goals.

In the great scheme of things it's a very good point, you've had a great start to the season, look at it in a positive light ffs! :)

I could swear it was in the press before about his drug problems, no?

haha i should do really, that was such an insipid performance though :)

ill blame it on the wind. I played 5 a side tonight, and playing into a 50mph headwind does make things very interesting.....

Remember this is your best start to a season in erm - well a very very long time.

Infostrada Sports: "It is 110 years since Newcastle opened a top flight season with back-to-back clean sheets in away matches. In 1901, they did not concede at Blackburn, at Everton and at Notts County.

Is Defoe living under a rock or something?

Defoe - Modric talk not over | Football News | Sky Sports

"He's just got to be professional. You can't go into games sulking because you'll get found out and let the team down.

"But Luka's a good professional and, if you didn't know there was speculation about him going and you saw him about the place, you'd never know.

"He's been good. In pre-season, maybe other players would have said, 'I've got an injury and I don't want to play', but he didn't do that and I don't think there's many players who would have done that.

Donut :D

Apparently he has also employed some 70 year old French fitness coach to 'revive his career with Spurs and England'. Fitness hardly seems his problem to me, at least comparatively with his inability to, you know, score goals.

What that article doesnt tell you is that all of the SAFC first team make a donation to the foundation from their weekly wage. I think that Gyan will never play for us again and to be honest I'd be pretty pissed if he did.

It was very telling about his character, especially the bits about not promising to stay at this new club. What a total knob, no big club will take a chance on such a mercenary (not even shitty).

I hope some team is daft enough to shell out what we paid for him, the only thing that makes whats happened ok for me is the fact we're saving on his wages and we've raked in between £5-6 mil depending on which newspaper you read. Just hope we dont get any injuries to our main striker now as we'd be screwed.

He is a pretty good striker in all honesty, wouldn't be surprised if he joined a team in Spain or maybe even PSG..

Now it can be seen why he was chucked around club to club.

Was hoping McEachran would start, ah well I expect he'll get half hour.

I wonder when we last lined up without Terry, Lampard, Essien and Drogba.

Chelsea Leverkusen could be good, but at the Bridge it will probably be 2 or 3 to 1. Dortmund game could go anyone of many ways, both teams need a win, both a bit shakey.

Indeed on both points. I'm rather excited to see our line-up being switched around and, as they put it on the Guardian, if things go pear-shaped AVB can simply say he was resting the senior players and reinsert them for Man Utd with no drama. Quite well done to be honest.

Chelsea: Cech; Bonsingwa, Ivanovic, David Luiz, Cole; Meireles, Mikel, Malouda; Sturridge, Torres, Mata

Full line-up. I'd like to see Ramires and McEachran instead of Mikel and Malouda frankly, but this line-up is certainly showing signs of an evolving team which is great news (finally).

Mikel and Malouda will be passengers if they start on Sunday, IMO this is why AVB is starting them here, we'd do much better to play Raul, Lampard and Ramires on Sunday.

Agree, at this point in time he has been a waste of fucking good money.

Disagree completely. He got us Andy Carroll (one joke) and fifteen mil to blow.

So, two jokes and fifteen free million to liverpool. Laughing all the way to the bank that we offloaded sulky and got a donkey and Suarez for practically nothing :D
