This is the best I have ever seen Berba play in a red shirt, stunning stuff, he's running with the ball is stunning, lots of end product, great interplay with rooney, giggs and nani. He could easily have had 6 himself.

I've never seen him hit a decent pass, a defensive midfielder nowadays needs to do more than just interupt the play, they need to be able to play and chip in with a few goals along the way. While he may have improved under Hodgson I can't see any of the top 6 teams in the premier league wanting to sign him if he became available.

What "defensive midfielder" actually gets a few goals a season?

He has been quite good this season especially against Chelsea and I have always thought he is good (Especially after the Man Utd games last season when he dominated their midfield)..

He came over here as an AMC and Rafa played him as a DM.. you have to remember that, and I really doubt he would join another prem team.

Great battling performance from the Villa today. Would like to see more quality when going forward but thank goodness the defence are back to their best. And Benty looks a snip at £24m (ahem) -- but you just can't teach strikers to be in the right place at the right time, or train that composure.
