For £3m and available to play in Europe he'll do as nice cover for almost anywhere across the midfield, think there were some stumbling blocks in his negotiations though because he doesn't think it's the best move development-wise for him.

That said where would he get into the Spurs midfield right now? They're basically all untouchable bar Palacios.

He is in more trouble for basically facing up to the ref after he got the second yellow whether it was valid or not is a moot point, imo he could of been given a red for the first yellow he got.

Sky are reporting that Spurs have now had a bid accepted by Everton for Pienaar. So I doubt he'll go to Chelski.

2 things i really dont get with this trasnfer saga.

1, i know spurs wanted him in the summer (and iirc, we were recieving quite high bids) but isnt he just going to be a fringe player at spuds?

2, if moyes (as it seems) is happy to off load him, why didnt he do it last summer.

I fear this transfer window isnt going to be a happy one

£18 to £24m is a bonkers fee for Bent. I like the player but he isn't worth anything like that. Besides if Houllier introduces the passing game he promises to the system will not suit him as he thrives on the ball over the top.

Starving O'Neill of funds and giving them to the geriatric Frenchman is a deeply odd decision by Lerner. And hands off Downing! Our best player this season by a mile.

Bent is worth 18 to 20 million because he's a guaranteed goal scorer, bent will score goals regardless of your style as long as the supply is good. Not many strikers with a record as good as bents in the premier league. And at the end of the day I'd take a goal scorer over heskey, carew and gabby!
