Paul Scholes testimonial sounds epic. Vs New York Cosmos, coached by Cantona, who along with Pele, will invite players from around the world to play for the Cosmos.

I think there's some collective wanking going on at the prospect of Modric, it does make sense and he's making the sort of noises that suggest he wants it, obviously won't be cheap, especially from those yids :p Sneijder won't happen although I don't think he'd fit.

I'd rub one out over the thought of a young-modric-fletcher-valencia midfield if I wasn't at work

Very good, very early business this window from Fergie and Gill. Top stuff.

I'd still expect a proper midfielder to replace Scholes, needs to be a play maker. I would not rule out moves for Modric or Nasri if they are available, and there is the new crop of youth that Fergie always brings in over summer to come as well.

of them to it more likely be Nasri unless we spend 30-35m on Modric I bet, unless he forces a transfer. Nasri should be <20m,

Although Modric is the better player now, he's 27(?). Nasri at 23 is much better value in the long term. He proved when Cesc was out at the start of the season that he really thrives in that central midfield role.

I really do not see Nasri going to man u for less than 18m it would leave the board and Wenger in a very sticky spot. The only thing that gives me hope is ifnhe leaves he will be a Hleb or Flamini.

Of the two I'd be more confident that Modric would perform but I'd be happy with either as a creative midfield force.

I am gonna go with Nasri purely because he has had more exposure against top sides in Europe and done well. Modric had a great season and did well in the CL but at 27 and potentially £10 million more I don't see it as good business.

That's a quick fix for a lot of money though mate. Not wise business.

As a piece of Business Nasri is by far the better option I agree. In some ways I wish Fergi would make a bid for a similar person from another high quality league that isnt a division rival so he wouldnt cost as much. . Someone like Sahin who had a good season at Dortmund for example. Ofcourse then they are untested so its difficult decisions no matter what.

I'm suprised Chelsea aren't in for more players. After the dip in form last season I would have thought roman would be straight in for some

They are going to struggle and will have to spend wisely this time, spent 75 big ones in January and another big spend is going have implications for the new finiancial fair play system.

The mighty blues probably haven't got any solid deals in place because we're managerless at the moment, if Guus hopefully signs on, then I'd imagine he'll shape the squad with a few to this season and with any luck, the next few years.

Alternatively we could end up with Lippi and a load of 30 something Italians

Lukaku alone is supposedly a 20m deal, so maybe they're putting their fingers in their ears and lalalaing it until it goes away :p
