With him, Lindegaard and Amos, we have a ridiculous selection of keepers. Feel sorry for Kusaczk, but he should be a regular at a smaller team, he'll never be top choice for us.
He's been shocking lately, even in last nights friendly he looked like a liability.

Chelski fans; Rafa has done an interview with Sky promoting his ability to manage in England. I wonder if Roman is watching? :D

2 knee injuries in a row, poor fella got the worst of lucks :(

:(

Remember watching him play for Valladolid against Madrid, where he easily outshone Casillas, shame to see injuries have halted the lads progress but at least with De Gea gone he'd be no 1 at Atletico.

I think Roman is smart enough to know the general feeling towards Rafa.

I think Aoln meant to post this here, and not the random spam thread:

The Swiss Ramble: Liverpool's Future Strategy

and so it begins!

Yep, more proof La Liga is going the way of Scottish football, and has not learned any lessons from Italian footballs demise.

Yes and no, alot of Spainish clubs are getting taken over by rich Middle-East investors, for example see Malaga and Getafe. Theres alot of change inc.

Yes, but not enough in the area's that matter - there sharing of wealth amongst the league, TV rights, and passing money down to the lower leagues. Their pace of change is too slow.

Oh yeh, If I'm right Barce/Real also have negotiated their own TV deals away from the other clubs?

Yes, there is talk to try and stop them doing that, but they have no incentive being offered to them to agree. Vasc can tell us more :)

I agree it's going to go the way of the SPL, the quality of other teams around them is pisspoor, the likes of Villarreal, Valencia, Atletico, Bilbao, Sevilla etc just are going to get weaker and weaker.

The debt levels are ridiculous as well, especially more so considering they earn less income.

He's got a quite good europe record don't he? And I think Roman want to win that :p
doesn't mean shit, Ancelotti had a great record in Europe but for us he's the worst european manager we've had

Ah, but look at the overseas TV revenues, Prem has five times the rev of La Liga, which makes for a lot more to share around. Problem for Barca/Real is that if they do share with the other teams there's a much smaller net amount available, but if they don't, its pretty unlikely that overseas revenues will grow (who the fuck wants to watch Getafe v. Hercules? But I've seen Vietnamese people sat around watching Bolton v. Wigan...). I've watched Premier League football on every continent, and even in places where you'd expect La Liga to be more popular (like South America), everyone watches the Prem. You even see it with the shirts people wear.

Unless Spanish football can figure a way to make their whole league more popular while still giving the big two the revenue they need to stay competitive in the CL, they're fucked. Maybe that's why its no surprise Real have been one of the biggest advocates of a European Super-league; its their only long-term option.

The Premier League's draw is immense. Watching some shitty comic relief with celebrities in Africa, one of them went into a bar where you had to pay to get in, it was a few days wages for the locals but the entire place was completely packed. All to watch one average Premier League game on a single 12 inch screen.
