The only reason they're not signing him is because they're bringing back Raul just for you Vasc!

I wouldnt have thought you'd have the nerve to wind up Chelsea fans when Liverpool didnt even qualify for any european competitions next year!

Bitter much? Wouldn't expect any more than this trite rubbish from a Liverpool fan anyway.

Did anyone really believe a player who has a very specific style of play that is unsuited to the way the team he is joining plays would work out in the short-term? No, I think not.

Does anyone really believe the deluded scousers will have anything to cheer about next year other than fighting for a Europa League spot again? No, I think not.

Keep believing in your shit club, it's entertaining. You're just a red Newcastle these days.

I'm not bitter over Torres, he has not been the same player since his injury from last June, and we got 50m for him.

One of the replacements we got for him (Suarez) has performed pretty much instantly, where as Torres? pfft you had to keep him on the bench to win games ;)

I like how people are still doubting Liverpool, things are really looking up at the moment and I can't wait for the start of the transfer window.

In before the usual deluded Liverpool fan comments :D

Well what choice is there Omorof? Vote for one of two clearly corrupt men, or abstain in protest? FIFA are making a mockery of themselves and very publicly. If FIFA was an african nation, there would be outrage at the lack of democratic process, blatter trying to tarnish his opponent etc.

Let's also be fair, Blatter is a fucking tool, but Hamman and Jack Warner are cancers on football.

Anyone else feel Platini could capitalise on this? There is no way FIFA elections should be allowed to continue under this cloud, with one candidate accused of corruption. Platini could quite easily make a stand now and use the power of UEFA to say that he wants to stand and screw over his mate Blatter. I for one wouldn't mind, Platini gets a lot of bad press, but he's better than the lot of those old twats currently in charge.

£1.7 million gate revenue per home game, anywhere from £250,000-£500,000 TV revenue per game. A good run in Europa league pays the wages of 3 top players for a year, Liverpool need the income but also they need to offer something to new players they are trying to sign, whilst it is no CL it is still football of a level that many players have not played at and some top players would settle for a year until CL qualification can be gained.

Yep it is madness, there is silverware with a history to be won, alot of money to be made and European football to blood new players with. Any top side can cope with 60 games a season, United/Chelsea/Arsenal have been doing it season in season out for a decade. Liverpool need to see it as £25 million plus potential revenue and upto 16 games extra to broadcast into Asia to help grow the fanbase. Anything else is small time thinking.

Not to mention one more UEFA Cup win would put us at the top of the Marathon table :p

BBC Sport - Bin Hammam & Jack Warner face Fifa bribery probe

FIFA launches investigation against Jack Warner and Bin Hammam

wouldnt it be amusing if the FAs corruption complaint ends up seating Blatter on the FIFA throne for a few more years?

It isnt down to the FA complaint. This is totally different complaint that stems from bribery in relation to the presidental election. Apparently to do with a meeting a couple of weeks ago.

Fucking hilarious. All the claims of there being no corruption and 2 of the lead people in saying that are now up infront of the panel.
If guilty, surely this will put Blatter in charge by default with no need for a vote because a candidate should be kicked out for bribery!

Almost a couple months out with a very bad virus that sucked out all his energy and made him lose alot of weight. Weight started to go back on, but his fitness isnt there. Was clear at the weekend he isnt gonna be at his best and thus a liability in the final unless he can get fully fit in a few days. Shame for the lad, really is.

Joey Barton apparently not getting a new contract, bit stupid of Newcastle if you ask me.

Also, QPR are apparently increasing ticket prices by 40% next season! What a stupid, stupid move.

40%??????????? do they not know how fecked the economy is and that they will alienate the economy! Oh wait, their owners are twats. lol.

And Barton, well he may have outrageous contract demands. And he no loss in terms of personality, even if he has done well for them.

Saw him up close last night, he is a slim lad anyway but is face is quite gaunt. I would say he is still roughly 5-7kg under his normal weight and because of that you have to worry about stamina for what will be an intense game.

Aye, when I saw him on the TV i couldnt believe how much weight he lost of his face. Really is a disappointment for the lad and really liked the idea of him and Anderson in the middle as a defensive pairing. Both can cover Messi in turn and rotate who is pushing forward. :(

Barton not being offered a new deal is a massive blow to the club, why on earth are Enrique, tiote, nolan going to commit to the club when another of the best performers this season is being told no.

This is the beginning of an exodus if you ask me.

Absolutely agree with the last part, but not with the first part.

Fifa wasn't clear under Havelange, but since Blatter took over it started to get really big.
Hamman and Warner are only Blatter's metastacized offspring.

pss. Here's another stat for you, if Liverpool would have played Chelsea every game of the season we would have won the league undefeated ;)
Someone explain that "stat" to me? I don't get it.
