Arsenal have history under soil heating flood lights shirt numbers televised game ect all things done first at Arsenal :)

I think the shirt numbers thing is actually squad number Herbert Chapman was the first guy to make someone the Number 9 before it went to whoever was up front. There was a history of Herbert Chapman when we moved stadiums the guy introduced loads into football.

Anyone noticed how people who support clubs that haven't done anything of note for a few decades go on about their "history", when actually they're only specifically referring to their trophy haul?

Ever wonder how people tend to be drawn in by the recent success of the club no matter where they live?

It's history because it's history, when the game was much more competitive.

Where do Schalke get all their money from? CL? I thought they were in trouble last year.

Both Hunterlaar and Jurado must have been very expensive, and I doubt that Raul's wages are low.

Edit: and they've just bought some fella from the french league.

Schalke were apparently broke :s. They aint sold anyone.. could be finishing runners-up last year, but still, they have a pretty good side on there hands now.

well, they've sold Kuranyi, Asamoah and Rafinha if i'm not mistaken. None of them were that expensive though, and they have to cover they debt somehow. I don't get it.

I'm not interested in german footy at all, i'm just wondering how they can afford all those players they've bought lately :)

The reason why Shalke have so much money is easy.

Have a look at who their sponsor is and then you will work out why. Rumour is, they arent just their sponsor and are actually bank rolling the club.

Who the feck are Gazprom?

Also Sunderland sign Gyan, £13m + apparently which seems a bit steep to me! Still looked like a real handfull at the World Cup.

But 4 good attackers!

Ibrahimovic
Robinho Ronaldinho Pato

Looks a good frontline. Shame they'll get completely overrun by any half decent team since none of those 4 will help by tracking back at all.

El Hadji Diouf mk2

Half decent world cup and goes for silly money before being a complete flop

I dont think he will be Marc, Bruce has been following him for a few years and tried to sign him last summer so he's been bought on more than his World Cup performance.

Sadly Frazier Campell is out for 6 months after blowing his knee up and we've sold a home grown talent I had high hopes for.

I really did expect something more from Arsenal but seeing as we are special we have 2 days of the window left.

Villa can't claim either. Villa would be a step down for Moyes because he would have to start again.

He'd have to start again with a squad that finished above him last season? If he was given promises of transfer cash I'm sure it would be tempting for an ambitious manager.

I'd be worried that he's never won at Villa Park though, it doesn't augur well.

How comes we get extra time?

I dunno why but ArseShaving came in a fair while after a window "closed" some say it was the weather but we all know it is because we are Special

Oh i thought you meant you somehow just naturally had an extra couple of days.

I know you can apply for an extension under certain circumstances in regards to specific deals that are under way.

Do people think Van der Vaart will complete? That will be a very very good signing for ole Harry, especially after his interview this morning claiming he wasn't going to sign anyone.

Tom Cleverly out on loan to Wigan until the end of the season, great chance for the lad to show his worth at this level and he definately has the potential to succeed.

1947: Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says the club are waiting for confirmation that their signing of Rafael van der Vaart, for around £8m, has been ratified by the Premier League.

There we go.

nice signing for Tottenham that one....

Surprised Arsenal didnt get in a keeper, and maybe another attacked as van persie seems to have turned into a glass cannon.
