played a part in somthing like 35 games (mostly as a sub in last 5 -10 mins) scored 14 goals

Whats with all the Owne lovin lately gohnad?

well Cho posted about him getting a medal and there was a few comments about him not deserving it ect so i thought i'd remind everyone what a GOD he is

hopefully dalglish will bring him back to pool if united don't keep him on, good experienced striker to go with all the young talent we've got

benitez missed a trick, twice

if he came back to liverpool from madrid or even from newcastle things may have been so different for him, he would have definatly played more for pool in the last 2 years than united as we've had no stirkers

Alex Ferguson may avoid sanction if he rests players against Blackpool | Football | The Guardian

i always thought the fines for "not fielding strongest team" were odd, but seems a bit strange that they only punish the small clubs?

i mean they arent setting out to lose the games, they just feel they need the players for the next, bigger game (which happens all the time with big clubs when they rest players vs smaller clubs to allow their stars a breather before champs league games etc)

Why is the FA dictacting team selection tactics to clubs and managers?!

Because they are idiots who cannot follow their own rule set. There was no reason for the fines handed to wolves and blackpool, and those clubs should have defended themselves and appealed through every channel available. The worse thing is that the LMA as an entity did not throw it's weight behind Mick and Ian.

They know Fergie will scream blue murder if they try and suggest a squad good enough to rotate and beat Shalke in the champs league is not good enough for a league game. The FA are pussies.

Wolves and Blackpool should never have even been brought up on it.

A club has a squad and anyone of those registered players should be allowed to compete as and when the manager dictates. I didn't see the FA throwing the book at Blackburn for pretty much standing in their own half for 10 mintues while United passed the ball about in their own half at the weekend.

exaclty whats the point of registering players if, when you actually play them, you get whacked with a fine!

If anything Man U resting players this week has much bigger implications than anyone who has been punished. If Blackpool win and it condemns someone else to relegation then that's is big money being lost, the number going round is £90mil. So if anything Wolves doing it in a mid season game should be ignored and Man U doing it in a game as big as this should be punished. But when have the FA ever made sense.

Nope, none of them should be punished, the rules are clear, a 25 man squad. You should be free as a club and a manager to choose any of those 25 players.

League positions are decided over a season, not one game.

If he doesnt play at least his second string I will be fucking fuming. But its one of the precious 'big' clubs, so as such they would remain untouched why the likes of us and Blackpool are left to suffer the brunt for using our squad.

Yeah sorry should have been more clear. I think the rule is a joke and should never have been enforced. But the difference in situations means if you were going to punish one and not the other the Man U game is the obvious one to go after.

classic cardiff play-off implosion. It's a shame, a Cardiff Swansea final would've been epic.
