Guardiola has gotten the best out of what was already a fantastic team, you can cite what fantastic players he has at his disposal all you want but without motivation and some tactical nouce behind them they wouldn't be as dominant as they are.

Guardiola is a great manager, but the Copa del Ray final showed us his tactical naivety. Mourinho simply out-thought him, and got Madrid employing the right kind of tactics. These next two games will really test Guardiola's ability as a a manager as I believe he may need to get them playing slightly differently.

Barca are playing with a great deal of fatigue currently. It was evident against Arsenal, and has been pretty obvious in the leagues and cups since. The small squad size is useful and beneficial at times, but at the back end of a busy season with injuries and a huge number of games under their belt they are starting to drag a bit. Villa hasn't scored in ages.

I said some, I didn't exactly call him Guus Hiddink did I. ;)

I just find the whole 'pick any middling English manager and put them in charge of Real Madrid/Barca and they would win everything' thing incredibly silly. It is so far off the mark.

Guardiola played in one of the very best football sides of all time - Cruyff's Barca team - and won the treble with Barca in his first season. Mourinho is an out-standing coach, losing 1-0 in extra time to Mourinho's Madrid hardly makes him naive. Let's not forget Barca beat Madrid 5-0 in the league - does that make Mourinho tactically naive?

It is a nonsense, United fans have not been giving him a hard time but the media are all over it and prefer the story told thier way.

It's just my opinion that it was naive of Guardiola to not change his game plan when he knew Mourinho had learnt from his mistakes. That is Barca's true weakness (if you can call it that), the fact they have been shown, so far, to not be capable for playing any other way.

But I think Guardiola is a class act, was never questioning his coaching abilities. He had a great team, yes, but he still needs to motivate his players and get them playing the way that suits Barca best. Great teams still need great managers - look at Inter this year, the shadow of the team that won the treble last season.

Barca don't seem to be going past 1st gear at the moment - passing is sloppy at times and Madrid seem to be having the ball more than they should.

they're having to play deeper than usual so their forwards and midfield dont really get to link up and play their normal game

Someone call RADA, I think I've found where those 22 missing amateur dramatics students are........

Is this what la liga is like every week? Turgid, dull and full of petty diving and bad sportsmanship

Both teams are bad, although Barca I think are mildly worse because they have that clown Busquets. El Classico/Spanish football is going to become a novelty if every game is like this. Don't know if I can be bothered to watch it anymore.

Real beginning to gain back a lot of ground there towards the end. might be very over dramatic but hey...I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the theater of it all :D
