that's a little unfair, Carrick's passing (tonight) has been better than at any stage in his united career bar his first season. BUT, had Schalke tried to pressure him, run at him a little, he would have fluffed.

Carrick has played some penetrating passes. But I think Schalke could be credited for that. It was ridiculously easy for United to bypass them - the defence was bad, yes, but their midfielders just left massive holes on the pitch.

seriously quit with the carrick loving, its getting creepy.

he wouldnt get into Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City or Tottenhams midfield, he's average at best when put under pressure, usually gives the ball away far too often, and makes sloppy decisions (see man city goal in cup).

He's an average journeyman midfielder, who i would class in the same grouping as players like Jenas and Huddlestone. Has hte occasional dream game but has no consistency or star quality.
