Expanding capacity and adding basic corporate facilities is not the same as what has been done at the Emirates, Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford. Those three clubs pull in tens of millions in extra revenue from those facilities and services. Molineux is nice, they did good work but be honest now, did that work done really grow the club? More than a decade as a championship club and scraping by suggests otherwise, your hardcore was there and always are but the revenue from corporate facilities was not otherwise you would have constantly been in the black and had the cash to get out and stay out of that league.

Umm, yup, considering 20 years ago the Molineux only had 2 useable stands, one of which was rotting, with the John Ireland (now Steve Bull) stand which bankrupted us in the first place.. The other two were closed due to the Bradford Fire, but had gone into disrepair long before that due to the club pretty much going extinct.

The hardcore and town will always be there, we'd fill a 38,000 easily and the business side of things are being done in order to take us forward. Morgan wants European football back here, he's got the money, the business sense to get us there, I think.

Well attendances have grown alot since your years in the old fourth division but especially since new Monlineax was built, that said though the last decade hasn't been that impressive. Yes there were alot of years in the championship but other clubs such as Newcastle didn't lose 25% of thier crowd on relegation. More tellingly though, Molineux was not at capacity for every home game in the Premier League, surely if you can fill a bigger stadium on a regular basis then you should be sold out in a smaller stadium every home game?

Your not taking in any amount for Away fans that don't sell are you cho at all? Unfortunately, Wolves away isn't as big as a draw as United away. Home ends are mostly all sold out, it's why I was stuck in the sodding North Bank when I last went.

Maybe that is it then bud, looking at historical numbers and location you look like you could manage bigger crowds and hopefully it will happen for you.

As many have noted, Wolverhampton (or the black country as a whole) has a sort of old school mentality, most of the football shirts you see will be Wolves ones, if not then Villa. The town is a sea of black and gold come match day, and has a huge catchment area due to our proximity into Shropshire.

Exciting times I say hah. Wolves in europe would be something.

Newcastle have given us a great game so far, I would probably take a draw as a fair result right now.

Fraizer Campbell potentially out for a year because of knee surgery he's got to have.

Sad for the lad, he's had a great season at Sunderland, and shown he's got what it takes to be a premier league striker.

Towards the back end of last season he was playing really well , i was looking forward to seeing how he did this season but hes had some bad injuries and i really feel for the lad.

Now to Liverpool.....

As a life time Liverpool fan, i do not like the idea of moving away from Anfield with all its history and the atmosphere that it has. I would love to see a re-development of the stadium along the lines UTD's development, expanding the stadium over a number of years, steadily increasing seating capacity as well as income.

On the other hand a new stadium would be good, we would not suffer the inevitable loss of income while the stadium is being built, as well as the obvious loss of income if we are to close large sections of Anfield, if a decision is taken to re-developed Anfield.

Another thing that always plays in my mind is what happens if a few years after re-development of Anfield, we need to again expand will it be possible?

As for your valid point about filling any new /re-developed stadium, with its increased capacity, i honestly do not think this will be a problem in the long term. LFC is a big enough club in terms of history, track record and fan base to fill 50, 60 hell even 70 thousand capacity stadium.

If i am honest with myself, we probably are no longer the greatest club in the EPL, but we are certainly up there in the top 4 regardless of what all the knockers on this forum and anywhere would like to think. We have not won the league in a age but we have won every thing else and multiple times in recent history.

You can't really compare the way OT was redeveloped and Anfield tbh. OT isn't in a residential area so it was easy for United to expand on the surrounding brownfield site, whereas Anfield is slap in the middle of a residential area (I use the term "residential" loosely for that shithole), so you're talking a lot of house purchasing and road rerouting, which is why Stanley Park got the nod. Its a common problem for a lot of the older stadia; its not about the stadium itself, its the knock-on effect on the housing around it.

They have been buying up land around the stadium for years and as a result of being granted permission for the new stadium a lot of the old problem areas have either been cleared up already or will be to make way for the new Anfield Plaza.

Grounds for debate: Anfield – Redevelop or Relocate? – This Is Anfield (Liverpool FC)

That article is one of many which looks at both pro's and cons for a move /redevelopment.

The problem for me is only what happens if we need to increase capacity again in the coming years, beyond 50-60 thousand seats.

OT sits right next to over 500 terraced houses bud, if that isn't residential then I don't know what is. Yes they expanded onto brownfield but they could not go in any other direction due to the railway, otherwise they would have been buying up those streets years ago. As for Anfield redevelopment, entirely possible, United's stadium expansion only actually used 10 metres of extra space over the old stadium, they went upwards much more than ******ds plus they filled in the corners. They can easily take Anfield to 60,000 on the current plot imo.

I will be short and not address the rest of your post, Liverpool Football Club are a great football club, no if's not but's no maybes. Your club has been held back by board's that are not aggressive in business matters, otherwise LFC would be huge now and a real threat to United in all aspects. The potential is there but LFC need to keep normal ticket prices within reach of the locals, increase revenue on the corporate side and pimp their wares all over the planet.
