Cant blame the keeper, the defender fucked up. THe defender once gone for it should not pull out as it makes it awkward for the keeper if he stops last second.

Man of the match .... Ben Foster... Again (imo)

Me and my dad both cringed when that goal went in, have to admit we did laugh a bit afterwards as well....in reality that goal has showed Arsenals biggest issue for a while now.

Looking at the coverage what has annoyed me is that they want interviews there and then - tell them to bollocks and celebrate and they get their interviews later, nothing of real value is actually said when people are either elated or despondent so wait imo.

Let the players and staff enjoy the merriment or despair, whatever.

He's been kept out of the game by 3 superb midfield performances from Noble, Hitzlesperger and the immense Parker.

Fergie! Sign up Scotty Parker, give up on carrick.

Man Utd need someone younger, they have been relying on Golden Oldies far too much this season already :(

Why rely on someone young that may not do the business when there someone that may be older but decent for a few more years that can easily be a stop gap until can develop someone younger to be more consistant and of better standard?

It was a very very good performance from West Ham, Liverpool lacked shape in the first half, a lot more threatening in the 2nd.

Positive thing was Suarez turn on the 2-1 goal, left the defenders wondering where he went :)

Any news on Van Persie? Injured or not? I reckon if he's out then Arsenal might begin to crumble.

On sky, arsene told the interviewer that they will not know about RVP until tomorrow. He got an injuried knee but it may be nothing

One does begin to wonder about the Carrick situation.

No one was criticising him over the last three seasons when he was the creative heart of Manchester United's Champions League and Premier League triumphs.

Carrick's passing range, as well as vision, is the best United have seen since Scholes. If Xabi Alonso, and many other professional footballers, can appriciate that then I believe so should we.

Carrick is clearly talented, one does not become a bad footballer overnight. This is eloquently demonstrated by the fact that he has won nine trophies with United.

Carrick has never been outstanding... Champions League success was generally down to the Fletcher/Scholes partnership.
He has a good game now and again, but he never had consistant performances. He has good passing range, but so often his completion rate is fecking awful.

Winning trophies with a club dont make you good, it makes the team good. Clearly Fergi hasnt thought much for awhile as he let Carrick contract run down to a degree that if he does sell him in summer it be at a cut price compared to what could get if he had 2 years or more on his contract

Carrick played in all but one of the Champion's League games during the 2007-2008 season when United won it.

I remember that year very well and his performances were meritorious, he was simply integral to United. One must also consider that Manchester United's return to winning the Premier Leauge (after 3 years) during the 2006-2007 season coincided with Carrick's signing, in which he played 52 games.

He has been lauded as a world-class player by perhaps the greatest passer of them all, Xabi Alonso. His pass completion rate, his range of passing and his long-range shooting ability (the 7-1 thrashing of Roma comes to mind) make him, in my opinion, one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

omfg, is Dorimor back :p

<Edit: Yes Carrick can pass the ball, but I never seen the likes of Xavi decide "Cant be bothered" which is the perception you get of Carrick at the moment. . .
Carrick regularly gets a decent pass completion %, but what good is a 3ft pass backwards. He keeps it simple 95% of the time and this season especially he has managed to give away possession really cheaply and it regularly has led to opponents scoring because he does it deep in our own half.
Carrick has always had one saving grace, his passing. Without that he is nothing. He cant break up play well, he aint the hardest worker etc etc. So as is seen this season - when he cant pass he the biggest waste of space. He had plenty of opportunities to get out this rut and has not shown the ability yet. 1 good pass a game is no good to us>

Keeping things simple, as you say, is an underated and now unfortunately elusive commodity. No one complained about Makelele, Keane or indeed Xavi playing this kind of football.

Carrick has, recently, been rather careless, I do agree. However, I am of the opinion that this is temporary and will pass. In terms of his overall game, I confess I must disagree with you here. Yes, these areas of his game were not so great when he came to United, but he has steadily improved under Ferguson and he is now rather good at tracking back, tackling and shooting.

One thing is for certain, his creativity is sorely missed in the England midfield, where he has too often been dropped in favour of the deteriorating Gerrard and Lampard.
