Keane = Defensive midfielder... Carrick = Creative midfielder.

Keane had to keep it simple, and his focus was breaking up play as was Makelele, Viera etc. That day and age is kinda gone now though. You need more to your game then just breaking up the play as the game has moved on.
Carrick was a bit better at them stuff, but he is still lazy. If he was Scholes age, and had Scholes passing then he could be forgiven a bit for the lazyness but both Scholes and Giggs seem to do more than Carrick bothers doing.

Keeping things simple is all well and good, if it is done with purpose. Carrick is keeping it simple for the sake of keeping it simple. At times it actually seems like he just trying to get some decent completion stats to cover over the rest of his poor play. Somthing to give him the ability to argue "but look, i must be doing something right. Look at these statistics".

Currently he completely lacks in every way. If we werent so short in midfield due to injuries then he would never get a game on current showings. He should be using this time to get a contract offer, not showing it right that he hasnt been given one.
Hell, at this point in time an Injuried Hargreaves looks better than Carrick :p

I understand what you are saying, but I believe that Carrick is a class player and he will show it in time.

The trophies speak for thesmselves. He has played over 200 games in a team that has won 9 titles since he has been there - this is no accident.

He may not have time, because if we want to cash in at all then he needs to be packed off in June/July. So basically he got until our midfield returns to fitness in order to get a new contract, only way he will be able to get a long run is if Anderson cant get recovered quickly, and i can actually see us going with Nani, Giggs/Scholes, Fletcher, Valencia until season end when they are all fit. With carrick only playing in "easy" games

What a day, what a day!

So many Arsenal fans were acting and talking like they had a trophy in the bag, phenomenal performance from Brum today, well done.

Was a great game of football tbh. RPV's goal in particular was immense, but well done to Birmingham. Oh, and Arsenal fans? You are such fucking bad losers. Applaud the team the won on the day, applaud your own team, who did play well apart from one mistake, then leave the stadium. Oh and learn to make a bit of noise as well. Birmingham fans embarrassed you with their nasal stylings.

How much where the tickets? Anyone know? Be nice to have a comparison for the extortion UEFA are trying to get away with for the Champs League.

UEFA didnt set the price for the Champs League. It was the Wembley Group etc. UEFA merely stated that they dont think it is overpriced, though I dont get how they can say the CHamps League is the equivalent to the World Cup Final, given one of them only comes round every 4 years!

If you have a story on a Premier League player would you sell it?

Ban, appeal, ban is most likely unless Clattenberg says he saw it 100% and is not convinced there was intent. He will be out on a limb if he does though, doesn't strike me as being that brave.

One does begin to wonder about the Carrick situation.

No one was criticising him over the last three seasons when he was the creative heart of Manchester United's Champions League and Premier League triumphs.

Carrick's passing range, as well as vision, is the best United have seen since Scholes. If Xabi Alonso, and many other professional footballers, can appriciate that then I believe so should we.

Carrick is clearly talented, one does not become a bad footballer overnight. This is eloquently demonstrated by the fact that he has won nine trophies with United.
I just fell off my chair laughing, comparing Carrick's passing to Xabi's? give me a break.

"Man Utd striker Wayne Rooney will face no action for elbow on Wigan's James McCarthy "

If it would had been anyone else then it would have been a few match ban.
